LOL, The Model Used in Anti-Gay Billboard Is Actually GAY! - VIDEO

In Virginia, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays put up this billboard showing twins––one gay, one straight––to make a point that “nobody is born gay”. But the gag is, the guy is not a twin or an ex-gay! Actually, he's gay and loving it!

His name is Kyle Roux, and he's a stock ad model.

P!nk is Billboard's Woman of the Year

P!nk was given a top honor.

Billboard names her Woman of the Year.

Her latest album, The Truth About Love, was her 1st number one CD. Her songs pretty much ruled the airwaves and gained a Grammy nod.

She will received this honor during the 2013 Billboard Women in Music event on December 10 in New York City.

Congrats, P!nk!

Haters want the "I Am Gay" Billboards to come down

Ignorance is truly bliss. A few fools think this billboard is wrong and has to come down. Here's more about this foolishness:

The Rev. Alfred Thompkins, of Calvary Tabernacle, said the “I am gay” billboard message only encourages troubled youth to embrace homosexuality.

“A thirteen-year-old looks at these billboards and says, ‘That must be it, I must be gay,’ ” he said. “That goes directly against God’s purpose. As a resident of Schenectady, a pastor who works with young people, with families, frankly I’m really bothered by the message these send.”

The billboards offer three messages, showing gay men with their families, in church and on a basketball court. Each message starts with the announcement “I am gay,” in large letters, and concludes with, “We have always been a part of this community.”

They were designed by In Our Own Voices, a gay advocacy group in Albany. The state Department of Health paid for the billboards as part of an effort to find a more effective way to reduce the HIV infection rate, which has disproportionately hit gay and bisexual black men. Last year, the Centers for Disease Control said the epidemic had reached such a level that new methods must be found to encourage men to use condoms.

But there is no overt mention of HIV on the billboards. In Our Own Voices is instead hoping that greater acceptance of homosexuality could lead men to make healthier choices.

Daycare provider Pamela Spicer told the City Council that the billboards were so vague they were worthless.
“These messages are a failure. I think the Department of Health needs their money back,” she said. “The intent is to instruct them not to spread HIV if they have it … That does not come across in the message.”
Instead, she said, the billboards allow “inappropriate sexual expression.”

She argued that the messages should be limited to adult business zones — mainly industrial areas at the outskirts of the city.

She told the council that her clients read the billboards as she drives them to events in the city. She offers daycare to a 2-year-old, 4-year-old and 8-year-old.
“When I’m driving them to the Schenectady Public Library and they say, ‘What does gay mean?’ how do I answer that question?” she said. “How do I expose them to such content?”
Oh please! Stop this stupid notion about "what do I tell the kids" or if "they say I'm gay, then I am". Those reasons are dumb and ignorant at best. The reality is these people are just plain silly. This billboard is not worthless or pointless. It sends a powerful message that: Black men are gay and happy, We can have families and We Exist! Yes, we exist!

Because you don't like it or can't handle it, is not my problem or the billboard's problem. It's yours. You Pamela, you Rev. Thompkins and you Councilman Joseph. Y'all need to get over it, because we exist and if you take away the billboard, we will still exist.

A New Campaign: In Our Own Voices

I saw this pic on Joe.My.God. and I was excited. To see a billboard showcasing LGBT people of color as a family is rare, beautiful and paramount to the overall cause.

So I did some searching and found out more stuff about IOOV. Here's a news clip from a couple of weeks ago.

They also have a site. Please check it out.

I wish them luck and hopefully, other groups will follow suit.

Atheist "One Nation Indivisible" Ad Defaced

Folks are not feeling the Atheists up in Charlotte, N.C.

An Atheist group paid for this billboard to be displayed on Billy Graham Parkway last week, then out of nowhere, it was defaced:

“It was done by one or two people off on their own who decided their only recourse was vandalism rather than having a conversation,” Charlotte Atheists & Agnostics spokesman William Warren said. “It does show how needed our message is. As atheists, we want to let people know we exist and that there’s a community here.” Warren told the Observer when the sign first went up that its location wasn't intended as a rebuke to the Rev. Graham.

He said the group has added more than 50 members since the ad went up. Atheist ads are often a target for vandals. Three of 10 atheist billboards erected in Sacramento, Calif., were defaced in February, and a series of atheist bus ads was recently vandalized in Detroit.

Haters defaced Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center's National Coming Out Day Billboard

My friend in Memphis (just 2 hours from my hometown) just told me about this foolishness.

Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center launched a National Coming Out Day billboard campaign.

Within days, one of them was defaced. An investigation will happen and Heidi Cranford Williams from the MGLCC had this to say:
We choose not to be stopped by fear; instead, our community unites in solidarity and the knowledge that we too deserve equality.

Although we are saddened by yesterday’s hateful expression of intolerance, we are proud of the local Memphian that chose to be the face on the billboard. He eagerly served our country and was forced out of the military under the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT) policy. The billboard featured him as a proud marine and displayed his brave message “I’m gay and I protected your freedom.” This bravery was met with disrespect.

We are gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender and we are proud. We will continue to champion the messages that the billboards were purchased to convey:

We want the Mid-South to know about MGLCC and the many life-saving programs we offer.

  • We want to show our neighbors that we are an integral part of the community, of schools, of businesses, of churches and of families.
  • We want to encourage our gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual brothers and sisters to come out whenever possible. Coming out is an act of courage, of power and of freedom.
  • We want to show that we are unafraid and unashamed to be honest about ourselves.

MGLCC is planning a unity rally to take place next weekend to show Memphis that in the face of discrimination we can peacefully unite with a message of strength, love and hope. We have formally requested that the Memphis Police Department open an investigation into the destruction of the billboard.

Stay strong, y'all. Hopefully, the cowards will be caught

Xanadu is like taking Ecstasy?

This is a mess! This billboard was posted in Chicago last month. Fire the PR people or someone involved with that billboard.

And Vanity Fair, you suck!
