Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal vetoed Anti-Gay Bill

Good news in the RFRA battle. Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal will veto a House Bill 757. Now this bill made headlines because it was a straight up anti-gay bill. Faith-based organizations could deny services and jobs to LGBT people.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signs Anti-LGBT Bill into Law

Gov. Pat McCrory had the nerve to sign that trashy ass House Bill 2 into law as soon as it landed on his desk. HB 2 overturns all of the North Carolina's non-discrimination ordinances.

Ugandan President backs down from reintroducing the Anti-Gay Bill

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has backed off reinstating the anti-gay law. His reasons have to do with everyone boycotting his country.

In August, the constitutional court overturned it, bringing some hope back to Uganda. There were threats on the bill returning, but that's all out the door for now. Funny, how Yoweri changed his mind after meeting with President Obama.

I wonder if something was said. Who knows, but I guess reality set in that if they brought that bill back, a trade boycott would've been in order.

So, in this situation, money talked.

The Witch Hunt against the LGBT Community begins in Nigeria

Things are getting worse in Nigeria.

Ever since their hateful bill became law, the LGBT community has been heavily targeted. According to AP, dozens of folks have been arrested or questioned about their sexuality.

Executive Director of the Nigeria-based International Center for Advocacy on Right to Health, Ifeanyi Kelly Orazulike, said about 30 more people have been detained and questioned as well. All of this has happened over a few days... Just a few days.

I can't imagine what a month would look like or a year.

Nigeria passes a Strong Anti-Gay Bill

Oh man, Nigeria's President just signed a bill that has outlawed pretty much everything gay.

Gay marriage, public displays of gay affection, affiliation to LGBT groups... Everything!

President Goodluck Jonathan signed this bill because he believes this is best for Africa. Reuben Abati, presidential spokesman, said this:

"I can confirm that the president has signed the bill into law. More than 90 percent of Nigerians are opposed to same-sex marriage. So, the law is in line with our cultural and religious beliefs as a people. And I think that this law is made for a people and what [the] government has done is consistent with the preference of its environment."

Wow... my heart goes out to the LGBT community in Nigeria. Stay strong, fam.

Ugandan President will not Rush to sign the Anti-Gay into Law

After the messy Anti-gay bill passed in Uganda, haters knew the Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni would sign it quickly... But that hasn't happened.

In fact, he wants to carefully read it through. His spokesperson Tamale Mirundi said:

"There has been pressure from religious leaders and parliament to sign the bill into law. Museveni won't rush to assent the bill before he studies it. … President Museveni is a practical president, he takes decisions based on analysis and not on how many support or are against it."

There's a bit of hope... maybe.

In Russia: Lower House of Parliament passes Anti-Gay bill

It's getting kind of hectic in Russia. The lower house of parliament passed a bill that bans the distribution of information about the LGBT community to children.

More than two dozen protesters were attacked by anti-gay activists and then detained by police, hours before the State Duma approved the Kremlin-backed legislation in a 436-0 vote. 

The bill banning "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations"bill still needs to be passed by the appointed upper house and signed into law by President Vladimir Putin, but neither step is in doubt. 

The measure is part of an effort to promote traditional Russian values as opposed to Western liberalism, which the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church see as corrupting Russian youth and contributing to the protests against Putin's rule.
The only parliament member to abstain was Ilya Ponomaryov, who has supported the protest movement to the aggravation of the leadership of his pro-Kremlin party.
