Soul Train's Don Cornelius is Dead from a Gunshot Wound to Head

Wow, how I do start? A family member found Don in his home on the floor. Don was later rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, but it was too late.

LAPD believed he killed himself, however they are still investigating.

Don was/is a legend in music. His death is truly a gut punch for many in entertainment. Who knows why he did this, but I'm sure we will hear so many reasons. My heart goes out to the family of Don.

R.I.P.

Diva Moment... Cheryl Song

If you watched Soul Train, you may remember the short Asian woman that was tearing up the floor.

With her slick moves and that dramatic long hair, Miss Cheryl was the deal. Actually, she was my dance role model before Leroy from Fame.

Anywho, if you don't know about this diva, please watch the little tribute here:

Peace, Love & Domestic Violence

Y'all know I love Soul Train, and I'm a little sad to hear that the man, the creator Don Cornelius was arrested this weekend for...domestic violence.

Police were called to his Hollywood Hills home late Friday after someone reported a domestic dispute, Officer Sam Park said.

The 72-year-old producer was taken to jail, where he was booked for investigation of felony domestic violence, Park said. He was released on $50,000 bail and ordered to appear in court next month.

Park said he did not know whom Cornelius was suspected of assaulting.

Just sad

Saturday Night, Disco Night

Back in the day, Soul Train ruled Saturday nights. And since I'm chilling at home watching Soul Train reruns (thanks to TIVO), I thought I would share some Soul Train lines with y'all

Soul Train Moment

As my work day ends, I thought I would take a Soul Train Line minute and invite y'all to come too.

A Soul Train Morning

Here's something to start the day. It's a Soul Train Line from the 70s, perhaps the best decade for the show. I also got the word that Soul Train is under new management and will be releasing DVDs of the past shows, which is greatness.

I love the Soul Train Line, it was a way to learn something new and cute. And it's still something to marvel at today. Since WGN airs the past shows on Saturdays, I noticed a lot of "family" dancing up and down the floors. Clearly it was place for us to let it all out. So enjoy, before the former owner has this removed.
