Guess Who's in The Avengers movie? The Skrulls

If you take a look at the IMDb of The Avengers. You will see this:

Notice, that Cobie has another name listed... Anelle. Who is that? Well, Anelle is this:

She's a Skrull Princess. So I think the Skrulls will make an appearance in the film.

Good looking out Bleeding Cool

Hot Rumor! Who Are the Villains in The Avengers movie?

Rumor on the geek street is the Skrulls and Loki are the villains in The Avengers film.
Over at AICN, Harry had this to say:
I got word that MARVEL has shot a specific teaser trailer for THE AVENGERS - and that LOKI is featured in that teaser trailer.   Makes total sense.   I imagine that will either be on THOR or CAP...  or Both if they're smart...   But then...  our buddies over at LATINO REVIEW - Kellvin says that he's learned that Joss Whedon is going to be having Loki bring in The Skrulls.

So - Let's see if I have this straight.   In like a year's time...   The man that gave us SERENITY - is going to bring a cosmic SKRULLian smackdown to Earth being fought off by the AVENGERS?   Jesus, we live in blessed times.   I mean, MARVEL is getting science fiction and fantasy...   This just delights me to no end.   I mean, this is amazing.   We're going to have things we never thought we'd see.   And I'll be walking into theater to see it!   Fucking Cool!
It is Fraking cool, if this completely true. I talked about this before. The Skrulls were the topic of discussion then, so I wonder if this will be the plot line? I guess we will see.

The Avengers Movie 'Plot' Revealed in a Local Newspaper?

Well the Albuquerque Journal has given us some important info. The Avengers movie may have the Skrull and maybe the Kree in it.

See here

For those of you who are not familiar with the storyline of the Avengers/Skrulls/Kree battle, here's a bit of info

In the comics, the Kree are an essentially humanoid race who fought over interstellar technology with the murderous, shape-shifting Skrulls, particularly when the Skrulls created the all-powerful MacGuffin known as the Cosmic Cube. Both used Earth as a battleground, with the Kree capturing and experimenting with human-Kree hybrids, and the Skrulls shapeshifting and assimilating into the highest levels of power in global governments.

If true, this could be super fun!

My take on Marvel's Secret Invasion

Marvel's Secret Invasion is over. Folks died, teams changed, folks came back, and barely any major change happened. The basis of the mini series is the Skrulls trying to take over the Earth. They have replaced several of the Marvel Heroes over the years to achieve this goal. But in the end, it was okay...nothing to shout about.

However, if I was able to put my 2 cents in, this would be my spin.

  • When the ship had several possible Skrulls or Heroes, there should have been a mix of the two. All of them were Skrulls, which made that piece almost useless. But we did learn that Spider-Woman was the Skrull Queen. I would have made Cap, Hawkeye, the Beast, and maybe Iron Man the real deal.
  • More secrets: It would have been neat if there were more heroes as hidden Skrulls. For example, Cyclops, Bucky, Mister Sinster, Mystique, Grant Morrison's Magneto, Vision, Nick Fury, The Order should have been Skrulls.
  • Limit the number of comics telling the story. The side stories were boring and close to being pointless. We didn't need Secret Invasion: Front Line or SI: X-Men. Nothing really happened in them, but MI5 with Captain Britian was good.
  • Death: More heroes should have died. Wasp's death was big and not big at the same time; more big names should've bit the bullet.
  • There should have been secret deals between villians and other game players. If the Earth was taken over by the Skrulls, it would have been nice to see other deals set in motion.
  • Maybe have a bigger player in charge of the Skrulls. Since Apocalypse does not have a real purpose, this could have his doing. Or maybe Dr. Doom or some other space evil person.
  • Learn more about the Skrulls' goals. They wanted to take over our planet, okay, and what else.
  • Mockingbird?
That's just my thoughts but I'm sure there's better ideas out there.
