NOM is Broke, they need a GoFundMe campaign to pay for Buses

Here is their latest email blast

Friends — We have launched a new campaign through GoFundMe.com to help raise the funds we need to organize additional buses for marriage supporters to come to Washington, DC for the 2015 March for Marriage on April 25th. Please help us!

We have many more requests for buses than we have funds to pay for them. Every dollar we raise in this campaign will go to help subsidize buses for communities that do not have the resources to sponsor a bus on their own. Many of these are in urban communities. Nobody should miss the opportunity to attend the critically-important March for Marriage due to lack of resources. Please give today, and then share the link with all your friends via email, Twitter and Facebook.

Thank you for your support!
This March for Marriage is going to be a bust.

The Latest Message from Brian Brown

Dear vik,
We are now just six weeks away from one of the most important events in our cause to preserve marriage — the 2015 March for Marriage taking place on April 25th in Washington, DC.

The importance of this march cannot be overstated — it is our last, best hope to show the justices of the US Supreme Court that the American people demand that their views, values and votes be respected and that marriage be preserved!
Please make plans for joining us for the March for Marriage this year as we make the case for marriage. Three days after the justices of the Supreme Court see the outpouring of support for marriage, they will hear oral argument in the case that could shape the legal definition of marriage in America for years to come.

I would LOVE to particpate

Brian Brown claims "Thousands" attended March for Marriage

The March 4 Marriage was a fail and everybody saw it fail.

However, Brian Brown claims it was a success. Check out his blog post:

Dear Marriage Supporters,

Did you see yesterday's March for Marriage? What a day it was!

Several thousand Americans — people from across the spectrum of America — Men and Women, African Americans and Latinos, Orthodox Jews, Evangelicals and Catholics, young and old — stood together in defense of marriage between one man and one woman.

There were people from all over the country, and we even got congratulations from the states of Texas and Indiana as they watched the rally online. Texas Values president Jonathan Saenz wrote, "Marriage is a Texas value, and we stand in unison with the thousands in D.C. today standing for marriage between one man and one woman."

Besides those gathered at the Capitol for the exciting rally, there were thousands more who tuned in to watch the live stream from their own hometowns, making this a truly national event.

If you missed it, you can still enjoy all the great speakers and read the news by checking out our exclusive media partner, The Washington Times, and their special March for Marriage section.

There you'll find the video of the rally, great news and opinion pieces, as well as the chance to sign the "I Stand for Traditional Marriage" petition lending your name and voice to the national stand for marriage.

I can't wait for next year as the March for Marriage will grow and continue to stand as a beacon for the truth of marriage and every child's right to experience the love and nurturing of both a mother and a father.

Yeah, we can't wait either.

Rick Santorum will speak at NOM's March for Marriage

From their press release, you can tell they are excited to have the Anti-Gay King by their side.

Dear vik,

I'm thrilled to announce that my good friend and stalwart marriage, family, and life champion, presidential candidate and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum will be speaking at this year's March for Marriage on June 19th.

From his days in the Senate, through his Presidential campaigns, Senator Santorum has never hesitated to stand for marriage and make the argument that the social values of our nation are of primary importance to the well-being of our families and children.

Senator Santorum is a huge addition to our already incredible speaker list that includes Governor Mike Huckabee, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, New York State Senator Rev. Rubin Diaz, and the Heritage Foundation's Jennifer Marshall and Ryan T. Anderson, among many others.

The battle for marriage in the United States is just beginning and the March for Marriage on June 19th will be a clarion call to the U.S. Supreme Court and Congress, as well as the mainstream media, that America stands for marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

The lineup of prominent national speakers, including Senator Santorum, who are committed to working with us to preserve marriage as the union of one man and one woman stands in stark contrast to the transparent attempts of many in the mainstream media to convince Americans that the debate about marriage is all but over.

As we take to the streets of Washington, DC on June 19th, encouraged by the words of Senator Santorum and others, we will make it clear to the Supreme Court, the Congress, and the media elites that Americans still stand for marriage and the truth that children deserve both a mother and a father.

I hope you
are able to make it to Washington on June 19th to march with us and hear from such a great line up of speakers.
He ain't going to change things. He can't even get elected, so how's Rick going to solve a problem like equality?

NOM's Brian Brown compares Anti-Gay Hate March to the Civil Rights Movement

Yesterday, Brian Brown had the nerve, the nerve to compare their hate rally to the civil rights movement. No joke folks, that bastard said that.

The words:
We were hoping for 5,000 people and we ended up with over 10,000. We filled the whole area in front of the court when we marched. It was a diverse coalition, we had African American leaders, Hispanic leaders, State Sen. Ruben Diaz brought 30 buses from the Bronx; it was just amazing. What I was most happy about, we talked about this before the rally, the way everyone conducted themselves. We were chanting, we were united but when folks tried to get in our way, there were some gay marriage protesters who tried to get in front of the march and stop us even though we had a permit, everyone just knelt down and started praying. I was not alive during the Civil Rights Movement but this is what it must have felt like, people were just so ecstatic to stand up and they did it in a loving, respectful way but they weren’t going to be silenced. I couldn’t be more happy with what happened today, I think it’s a huge step forward for the pro-marriage movement and I don’t think it’s going to be lost on the Supreme Court justices that we were there and we were there in force.
Brian, there are big differences between the two.
  • In the CRM, folks were marching for their right to be humans, equal and treated like American citizens. What you and your fools are marching for is the right to discriminate and hate.
  • In the CRM, people were dying and fights for their rights, you and your fools are trying to take rights away.
  • The CRM supported equality, you are supporting bigotry.
  • Brian, you are representing the past, the CRM was representing the future.
It is a mockery and an insult for Brian to compare the two. I hope he thinks about what he said and maybe in the future, takes this foolish belief back.

A Plea from NOM

Dear vik,

Great news: The preparations for the March for Marriage are going incredibly well!

In fact, the requests we've received from spiritual leaders has been overwhelming. We have received requests from churches for 100 buses that we don't have the funds to assist. That's thousands of people — many of them from Latino and African-American communities — who want to attend the march but are having trouble pulling together the necessary funds.

That's why I'm making this emergency appeal on behalf of these excited pro-marriage people who want to attend the March.

Please click here to make a confidential, tax-deductible donation right away to help us subsidize 100 buses to bring marchers to Washington DC so they can make their voices heard in front of the Supreme Court and on the National Mall!
I thought God was going to help the get there
