The Log Cabin Republicans beg for Help... Even though they supported Trump

Really? Really?

Check out this press release from Log Cabin Republicans president Gregory T. Angelo:

It’s been a whirlwind couple of days, but I didn’t want to wait another minute to share this important news: For the past three weeks, I’ve been in regular communication with the Trump Transition Team, the group tasked with organizing personnel and policy for our president-elect.

While Log Cabin Republicans was working to have a relationship with our nation’s incoming chief executive, the LGBT Left was busy demonizing Donald Trump and fundraising off of bogeymen.

I can’t say it’s surprising — what else can they do now? After working for decades against Republicans rather than with them and putting all their faith into the failed candidacy of Hillary Clinton, purportedly “non-partisan” LGBT advocacy groups now face GOP majorities in the House and Senate, and a Republican in the White House for the next 4 — or perhaps even EIGHT — years.

That’s why the work of Log Cabin Republicans is so important. In fact, it’s more important than it’s ever been. Collectively, LGBT advocacy organizations on the Left have staff in the hundreds. Budgets in the millions. And yet, they don’t have a single point of contact in the incoming Trump administration. Log Cabin Republicans does.

Think about that. While LGBT liberals were breathlessly lamenting this fact to the New York Times, Log Cabin Republicans was quietly working behind-the-scenes to ensure the advances in LGBT freedom we have made thus far remain secure and continue in a Trump administration.

No one else is doing this. That’s why your support is needed so much right now. Please give now and give generously — $250, $100, $50, or whatever you can give will make a difference when it matters most.

And if you’re not a member (or if your membership has lapsed) now is the time to “come back to the Cabin”! Join or renew your membership at this link right now. Log Cabin Republicans will continue to work for full equality on behalf of all LGBT Americans. That’s my vow, and it’s why I’m writing to you tonight.

The Log Cabin Republicans questions where Trump stands on Marriage Equality

The Log Cabin Republicans stay late in the game.

After months of low-key support for Donald Trump, LCR decides that NOW is the time to question his stance on marriage equality. Trump's been going back and forth on the issue for awhile. I guess they think this ad will force to be honest... Child, please.

Log Cabin Republicans wants to 'Raise a Glass' with Duck Dynasty Family

When you thought the Duck Dynasty mess couldn't get any crazier, the Log Cabin Republicans add their 2 cents.

The Executive Director Gregory T. Angelo released this statement on how to deal with this controversy:
“Let’s put an end to all of the fussing and feuding and talk about this like adults. Phil, you have your views and we have ours, but I think you’d be surprised how much we all have in common, and there’s no better gay folk out there to make that case than Log Cabin Republicans. We’re conservative, we’re guided by our faith, and we believe in freedom of speech. Most important, we are all children of God; that’s the most important thing we have in common. So in the spirit of the season, let’s get together — your family and ours — raise a glass, and work this out.”
Lord, these folks.

Log Cabin Republicans's Interim Executive Director Gregory T. Angelo believed Newt Gingrich would be a Great President

The Bizarro group know as the Log Cabin Republicans have named the new Interim Executive Director, Gregory T. Angelo.

Okay, that's cute, but here's the thing, Gregory is a little special. This man thought Newt Gingrich would be a great President.
pic from JMG
He also supported Romney for president. I'm not sure if they are planning move forward or hoping for change, but with this leadership, I think it's more of the same.

Log Cabin Republicans take out Full Page Ad against Sen. Chuck Hagel

This is very interesting to say the least.

The LCR published a full page ad in The New York Times slamming Sen. Chuck Hagel. Chuck has been ridiculed over anti-gay statements he made 14 years ago. These statements focused on James Hormel, who was being considered for a diplomatic post during the Clinton years.

Chuck said (at the time):
"They are representing America [as ambassador]. They are representing our lifestyle, our values, our standards. And I think it is an inhibiting factor to be gay — openly, aggressively gay".
The ad's focal point is this:
“Chuck Hagel: Wrong on gay rights, wrong on Iran, wrong on Israel. Tell President Obama that Chuck Hagel is wrong for Defense Secretary. Help us create a stronger and more inclusive Republican Party.”
The reason why I find this interesting is how strong they are against Chuck. This is the same group that endorsed Romney for President. The man who signed a marriage pledge and flip-flopped on gay marriage and gay rights.

Now all of a sudden they are strongly against a man who said some mess 14 years ago? Chuck has apologized for his statements, however Romney has not apologized at all on his stance against us.

The Reason Why the Log Cabin Republicans endorsed Romney

So why did the Log Cabin Republicans endorsed Romney? I know I shouldn't be surprised,  I thought they would see what a snake Romney was. But boy was I wrong.

Their reason for supporting Mittens was based on some secret promise in a secret meeting. In the blog/News site, The Nation, Ben Adler shed some light on this endorsement:
I called LCR’s executive director, R. Clarke Cooper, to find out.

Romney’s greatest asset as a politician is his total lack of integrity, honesty or consistency. He is perfectly willing to go before the religious right one day and pledge fealty to them, and the Log Cabin Republicans the next day to do the same. And, apparently, that is what he has done, in private. Cooper asserted repeatedly that, “With a President Romney we’re confident we can work with him [on ENDA].” But when asked why, Cooper offered only reasons that Romney should work with them: that discrimination is a form of economic inefficiency and impediment to job growth. But you could make the same argument to any president. The question is what Romney has said that gives them such confidence. Cooper says, “Romney been clear in his opposition to workplace discrimination.” He also seemed to conflate private conversations with LCR representatives and his public pronouncements, saying such things as, "He’s acutely aware of the problem of the patchwork of discrimination," meaning that it creates problems for businesses that some states ban anti-gay discrimination and others do not. Later, clearly referencing private communications with the campaign, Cooper said, "Based on our work with the campaign and Gov. Romney, I'm confident [that he will support anti-discrimination legislation]."
Seriously? Child please, Romney is a shapeshifter, a liar and a bootlegger. Why would he keep that particular promise? And if he has to keep it hidden, then he's going to flip-flop on it. The LCR were fools to believe this and stupid to go along with his lies.

Romney will quickly throw us under the bus as soon as he can. We know this, I just wish the LCR realized this as well.

Log Cabin Republicans Endorsed Mitt Romney for President

After everything we know and learned about Romney, the Log Cabin Republicans still endorsed him.

They said:
After careful consideration and consultation with our members and chapters, as well as communication with Mitt Romney and his campaign team, the National Board of Directors of the Log Cabin Republicans has elected to endorse Governor Romney for president.

"The decision to endorse is the right one for our members, our community, and for the nation as a whole," said Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director, R. Clarke Cooper. "Despite our disagreement with Governor Romney on the issue of marriage, on balance it is clear that in today's economic climate, concern for the future of our country must be the highest priority. We are Republicans, and we agree with Governor Romney's vision for America in which success is a virtue, equal opportunity is ensured, and leaders recognize that it is the American people, not government, that build our nation and fuel its prosperity. On issues of particular concern to the LGBT community, we believe Governor Romney will move the ball forward compared to past Republican presidents. No matter who is in the White House, it is crucial our community always has a credible voice speaking out on behalf of LGBT Americans. Log Cabin Republicans will be that voice to President Mitt Romney."
Not just marriage, he is not in favor of us in all matters. Do they have Romnesia? Because, he will take as much rights away from us as possible. His running mate Paul Ryan wants to overturn DADT, and the defend DOMA. Seriously, LCR?

Are you even thinking about this endorsement? This is a disgrace!
