Which Vampire Girl was Better?

I saw the remake of Let The Right One In... Let Me In, the other night. I have to say that I was scared of this remake, but I wanted to give this a shot.

And the verdict: It is the best of all remakes so far, but it was completely unnecessary.

Here's my bullet point review:
  • The two teen characters are good. They embodied the whole outsider thing down to a T. But unlike the original characters, they didn't really push the creepiness and sadness of the movie.
  • The "father/killer" was too vocal in the US version. The original "father/killer" was something more. He gave you fear and fright. But in the US version, you got a little more compassion.
  • The bullies were better in the remake.
  • I was not happy that they made the Owen's dad straight. In the original, the dad was living with a man. In this version, it was very clear that he was with a woman.
  • The CGI sucked.
  • The Owen/Oskar character was not as creepy as the original version. Actually, I loved Oskar, because he was a bit disturbing.
  • Most scenes were very tight with the original, and they even added some new things that were okay.
  • This version told a story, but in clumps; not as connected as the first.
  • The feel of the movie was nice, similar to the original.
  • This was the best version of American vampire movies I've seen in awhile.
  • In all, it was a good remake.

Remakes Shemakes: Let Me In

This is the remake of the beautiful and haunting, Let the Right One In.

I love the original, I mean LOVE IT.

So, I was heartbroken to see a remake done so fast. The original is perfect the way it is! I can't understand why Hollywood is putting their greedy hands on this.

However, I will wait to see what this movie has to offer. They better bring it!

My top 5 Vampire movies

To be real, I'm not a huge vampire fan. I love witches, demons, and certain monsters but vamps...not my fave.

Buffy made me appreciate them and Twilight made me hate any outside notion of vampires. However, there are a few Vampire movies I will always love.

Vamp

Not the best movie, but it was fun. Grace Jones played her part well and the story wasn't that bad.

Lost Boys

David...nuff said

Fright Night

This movie is one the best vampire movie ever. It's real, cute, and has good acting. You're so cool, Brewster!

Let The Right One In

This is one of the best. If you haven't seen it, please do.

Near Dark

This movie made me fear vampires. They were not sexy, glamorous or possibly gay. They were murderers and deadly. I personally like vampires to be...vampires.

So that's my list.

If you see any Vampire movie it should be this one...

Let The Right One In is the bomb! I can't believe this was in limited release. Funny, it has the same premise as Twilight, (two young folks against the world, one just happens to be a vampire) but there's so much more in the movie!

A young kid, Oskar is not a popular boy. He misses his dad, kids pick on him, and he's kinda falling into Dahmer state of mind, until he meets a weird and mysterious girl named Eli, who's his new neighbor and only comes out at night.

The film is dark, haunting and intriguing. The flow of the story is a steady pace and there's so much happening in the scenes. As normal, I will keep this vague, but I highly recommend this movie. It's creepy, horrific, and great. I am very pleased with this film and pray they will never remake it. Love this movie.
