Gov. Sam Brownback rescinds protections for LGBT state employees in Kansas

Gov. Sam Brownback is a major asshole! Yesterday, this bastard rescinded a 2007 executive order protecting state employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation or sexual identity!

Here's more
In place of that order, Brownback issued another order that he said “reaffirms the commitment of the State of Kansas to employment practices which do not discriminate based on race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry or age.”

The civil rights protection was one of nine executive orders originally signed by Govs. Kathleen Sebelius and Mark Parkinson that Brownback rescinded Tuesday. Most of those orders established boards and commissions that Brownback said no longer meet.

“This action by the governor is an outrage,” said Tom Witt, executive director of Equality Kansas, a gay rights and civil rights organization based in Wichita. “Gay, lesbian, and transgender state employees across Kansas have trusted they would be safe from discrimination and harassment in their workplace, but Sam Brownback has, by erasing their job protections, declared ‘open season’ on every one of them.”
This isn't over, Brownback! Not by a longshot!

In Kansas: Gov. Sam Brownback Won't allow Marriage Rights to Gay Couples

You know, what? Gov. Sam Brownback is an asshole.

This fool is all hurt over gay marriage in Kansas he won’t allow any state recognition of the unions. Sam won’t offer any of the benefits, like name changes on a driver’s license or employee benefits for state workers.

Really, Sam Brownback? You're going to sit up here and be defiant like some 5 year-old child?

He claims there's too much legal ambiguity on same-sex marriage, so he rather be safe than sorry. Personally, he's being an asshole

Brian Brown whines about Kansas

From his press release
"We call on Governor Sam Brownback to reject the idea that Kansas must abandon marriage because out of control federal judges say so. We urge Governor Brownback to use his authority to order local clerks to refuse to issue marriage licenses in violation of state law, as affirmed by the Supreme Court, in recognition that the state courts are not bound to reach the same judgment about the constitutionality of their laws as the lower federal courts. Although this obviously creates a lack of 'harmony' between the state and federal courts on the subject, Kansas has every right to insist that this conflict be resolved by the Supreme Court, not an activist lower federal court. We encourage the Kansas Supreme Court to remain firm in upholding state laws, especially in light of the fact that numerous federal judges have upheld state marriage amendments like Kansas' including the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as district courts in Louisiana and Puerto Rico. We urge Governor Brownback and state Attorney General Schmidt to aggressively press their appeal to the US Supreme Court."

SCOTUS lifts stay on Marriage Equality in Kansas!

From Freedom to Marry:
On Wednesday, two days after Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor granted the state of Kansas' request for a stay in this landmark marriage ruling in Kansas, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that the stay was lifted. Justices Scalia and Thomas noted that they would have allowed the stay to continue.

Romney Advisor Kris Kobach may remove Obama from Kansas Ballot

This is too ridic! Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach believes some crazy birther's claims about Obama being a Kenyan.

In fact, he and other members of a state board may remove the President from the Kansas ballot because of it.

From TPM:
Kobach is part of the State Objections Board along with Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, all Republicans. The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that on Thursday the board agreed consider whether to take Obama off the ballot because they said they lacked sufficient evidence about his birth certificate.

“I don’t think it’s a frivolous objection,” Kobach said, according to the Capital-Journal. “I do think the factual record could be supplemented.”

The board is looking at a complaint filed by Joe Montgomery, of Manhattan, Kan., who claimed the Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen and so is ineligible to be president.
This Joe is a nut and Kris is a fool for considering this mess. And he an advisor to Romney, so this is just bananas!

Romney needs to check this fool quick because this boat is sinking too damn fast.
