Friday The 13th Movie Remix was a Day Late and a Plot Short

So I saw Friday the 13th tonight at The Grove. I wasn't banking on much with this movie and kept my expectations low...and I'm glad I did.

This movie...well, first this is not a remake. This is another story in between the original 4 and 5 chapters. And speaking of the original, it was a whole lot better than this. I will keep this vague for some of y'all who will see this movie (Christopher) later today.

The story was told in a frat boy's style. Sex, Weed, Breast, Stupid jokes, and Sex. I felt dumb after watching this. I can't fully explain it, but I wasn't feeling the flick. In the beginning, they mangled the original ending, then they remixed Jason's steelo, which made him the butt of jokes and not a deadly being.

I wanted these characters to die and the way they died was...funny. There was no fear or terror here, just campy camp slasher tales.

Also, Michael Bay was all over this film. The silly one-liners, the ridiculous monologues, and aerial shots were clearly present. However, the over-campy feel just killed it for me. I wasn't scared or thrilled. I felt like I was watching Chopping Mall.

Perhaps the best thing in this film was Jared Padalecki.

He can act and he's very easy on the eyes...so cute....Okay, but if you do anything, see the original parts 1-4 and call it a day. This flick could be Friday the 13th part 4 and a half...I would be fine with that. This movie...it's not bad bad, but it ain't good either.
