Sen. James Inhofe is an Asshole
Then James "IHOP" carried on with his mess, saying soldiers would not defend their fellow gay soldiers in combat.
Wow, he's an idiot.

So how did the Veterans Lobby Day go?
For the past two days, many vets went to DC to lobby for a DADT repeal. Sponsored by the HRC and Servicemembers United, gay vets got a chance to voice their opinions.
See here
Some vets were happy and some wasn't completely moved, but it seems hope was alive.
Metro Weekly reports:
Maybe with more push and buy-in from the vets, Congress will feel more compelled to make this happen... Hopefully. After the meeting, Jason Knight, who served in the Navy but was discharged under DADT, was obviously impressed by the working-group members he met: ''They're really dedicated to doing it, and doing it right.''
Knight also spoke to concerns that the working group might not get needed input from gay and lesbian servicemembers because of the constraints of the current policy, which allows for the discharge of openly gay personnel.
''This was the very first meeting where we had LGBT veterans who were able to speak on behalf of those who can't,'' he said.
Leaving the Pentagon, another veteran noted that during the meeting he attended, there had been a moment when he felt that the working-group representatives gained a significant perspective of how the repeal of DADT would not be as thorny a transition as some opponents of repeal claim.

Interesting Quote: Bryan Fischer

Bottom line: you want to know who's now running the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the Marines and calling the shots where it counts? Fundamentalist Muslims and homosexual activists.
Really? I thought it was Daleks and Sweet Transvestites

Joe Cao joins the effort to repeal DADT

My favorite Repub, Louisiana Rep. Joe Cao, will be a part of the DADT repeal.
"I am proud to stand with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in support of a repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell,'" Cao said in a press release. "Our military commanders at the Pentagon believe it is time to proceed with dismantling this flawed policy, and I am happy [to] put my name on this legislation as well as to continue to work alongside Log Cabin Republicans as we speak to our Republican colleagues about the merits of repealing the ban on gays and lesbians serving openly in our armed forces."
Yo, Joe!

Interesting Quote: Patrick Murphy

"This policy is going to be repealed in a short matter of time. As for service members who are being discharged because of their sexuality. If they can hold on, help is on the way. And help is going to come form the Congress and be signed into law by the president."and...
"President Obama has clearly said he wants to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. He has instructed as Commander in Chief his Secretary of Defense and chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff to be prepare to implement the policy but he has respect for the legislative branch, a co-equal branch, and said, 'Guys, I want a bill on my desk. And when it comes on my desk I'm going to sign it to repeal this.'"
