ABC News Interviews Kim Davis

ABC News talked with Kim Davis about her mess. Interviewer Paula Faris asked Kim about what hurts her the most.

Check it out:
"What people say about me does not define who I am. That’s everybody’s opinion and that’s everybody’s right," Davis told ABC News.

Davis said she's been "called Hitler, I’ve been called [a] hypocrite, I’ve been called a homophobe."

"I’ve been called things and names that I didn’t even say when I was in the world. Those names don’t hurt me," Davis said. "What probably hurt me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me or that my God is not happy with me, that I am a hypocrite of a Christian."

Will President Obama 'evolve' on ABC News today?

In some interesting news, NYT reports that President Obama will be sitting down for an interview on ABC this afternoon.

The was very sudden and there's no reason why he's doing this, but there's hope he will 'evolve' today.
The interview, to be conducted by Robin Roberts, an anchor on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and was secured in the wake of a declaration by Mr. Obama’s vice president, Joseph R. Biden, on Sunday that he was “absolutely comfortable” with same-sex marriages.
 ....................
The sudden booking suggests an interest on the part of the White House to get Mr. Obama in front of cameras, albeit in a carefully controlled interview setting, as soon as possible.

ABC secured the interview with Mr. Obama on Tuesday afternoon, according to two people involved in the planning. It will take place at the White House. The interview was so hastily arranged, in fact, that Ms. Roberts was still in New York on Wednesday morning to co-host “Good Morning America”– and was planning on returning to New York right after the interview, because her mother is visiting and the two have dinner plans on Wednesday evening.
I'm curious to see what he will say. I'll keep y'all posted.

The People have Spoken

Good stuff from the polls:

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows support for marriage equality among Americans at an all-time high. According to the poll, 49% support same-sex marriage, while 46% oppose it. This is the first time supporters of same-sex marriage have outnumbered opponents in an ABC/Post poll.

Some key findings:

The poll found pronounced differences by age, with 66% of adults under 30 supporting same-sex marriage, 48% of respondents ages 30–64 supporting it, and only 28% of those over 65 in favor.

Support among self-identified conservatives, who remain least likely to endorse marriage equality, increased threefold over five years, from 10% in 2004 to 30% in the latest poll.

Polarization remains strong according to party affiliation, with conservative Republicans opposing marriage equality most strongly, and liberal Democrats favoring it most strongly.

Among those in the middle, the poll shows that 54% of moderates and 52% of independents favor marriage equality. However, the largest single shift is evident in moderate and conservative Democrats, where 57% support same-sex marriage now compared to 30% in 2006.

Additionally, 53% of respondents said that same-sex marriages performed legally in another state should be recognized in their states.
