The project is currently known as Showgirls: Story of Hope. The title references the name of one of the original movie’s minor characters.
Actress Rena Riffel, who played Hope in the 1995 camp classic and more recently had a recurring role on the here! Networks series Dante's Cove, is set to reprise her role.
I took my residents to see Showgirls as my first RA program in 1995. I loved/still love the campy lust-ridden story line.
I tried for years to do the "Nomi Malone" dance to make a guy cream in his pants... It only happened once.

OMG. I started to laugh while reading this. I'll admit to owning "Showgirls" on DVD. Each time I watch it, I'm reminded how good of a movie it could have been. If it had been done right. It was too over the top in the wrong places. And not enough in the rest.
ReplyDeleteThe movie should have centered on my favorite line spoken by Cristal. This is also the most sincere/honest scene. "There is always someone younger and hungrier coming after you down the stairs."
