Taking Self-Inventory on what you like about Yourself

We spend a lot time talking about what we don't like about ourselves. Just the other day, I was looking at myself, making self notes about what I needed change about me.

Then later that evening, I stumbled on a blog with a post about what he loved about himself. ( I can't find it, to reference it at this point)

I thought it was brilliant and a wonderful thing to do. I think we should take self-inventory of the things we like or love about ourselves. It's healthy and good for the soul.

So I'm listing some my "loves":

I love my big forehead, my sense of humor, my full lips, my creativity, my hair, my calmness, my strength, my ambitiousness, my willingness to learn and adapt, my eyes, my pudgy nose, my ability to see a different side, to understand the craziness of life, my ability to fall and rise up on my feet, and my calves.

You should try this too, I think it's fun and affirming.

  1. This is a great idea. It's easy to forget about the things in our lives that we are happy with.

I'm glad the exercise helped you. I learned it from my friend who is a big exponent of the philosophy of 'The Secret.' Basically when it comes to this, you have to be grateful for what you have and who you are... You may have negative thoughts, but positive thoughts are there... why focus on the negative?

  6. It's imperative to our sense of joy that we keep in mind what we like about ourselves, others & everything. Suffering precipitates from a focus of our thoughts on things that we judge to be undesirable. The undesirable will continue to exist, but you only attract it into your experience when you give it your attention. Attract that which is wanted by keeping it solely in mind. Think, journal, meditate, fantasize and speak only about the aspects of yourself, others and the world that you want you want to attract into your experience. Joy. Health. Wealth.
