I'm happy to see this. Considering all he's said and done this week to make amends, including this act of talking face to face with homeless LGBT youth, I believe he is honestly sorry for his unfunny anti-gay hate speech. I hope he and others who have microphones and cameras on them all the time now realize how harmful and dangerous hate speech can be.

This is awesome. We, and these kids, hear so many empty apologies from comics and politicians that it is so amazing to see someone not only recognize that he's hurt, but he's recognizing that these kids are not faceless pawns of a joke. They're real people who are hurting.
As someone who has been a fan of Mr. Morgan since his days on SNL I pray that he's sincere and that this is not just PR as usual. Now, what would make this even better if this aired on CNN as a special segment (possibly hosted by not so newly "out" Don Lemon) in primetime.

ReplyDeletePart of me agrees with Mike, Mechadude, and Cubby. The other part thinks that Tracy has a good PR person knowledgeable in damage control. =/
