The New Yorker cover is satire gone awry. It should have at lease had some type of caption to it. Folks unfamiliar with the magazine and seeing its cover will have assumed some merit of truth to the toon.
The National Review cover is "obvious" satire going out the way for a good laugh. I mean, you cannot take it serious. The joke is full frontal in plain site.
