If Tom Daley didn't have abs, a hot body or a cute face, would folks make a big deal about his coming out?

    Well if he didn't have all that then he wouldn't be a world class athlete and not famous. If he were less personal able and not so cute/good looking but still a world class athlete, his announcement would have made news but just not as much. The reaction is in direct proportion to the amount of fame one has.

    Yes. That bronze Olympic medal around his neck is a big deal.
