Folks are coming out to support Jason Collins! In fact, his jersey got a huge boost of sales!

Washington Wizards center Jason Collins’ jerseys got a boost in online sales after he became the first openly gay athlete on a major U.S. team sport.
Team spokesman Scott Hall told ABC News that 100 percent of custom jerseys ordered from the team’s online store bore Collins’ name and number, 98, on the back, after Collins revealed his homosexuality in an article published on Sports Illustrated’s website on Monday.Another reason why his jersey is so special has to do with the number 98. That number represents the year Matthew Shepard was murdered. Jason mentioned that was a significant moment for him.

If I weren't trying to pay off my student loan early I would have bought one myself. I still might do so over the summer if he re-signs with Washington or moves to another team.
