The X-Women will headline the reboot of X-Men.
Storm, Rogue, Rachel, Kitty Pryde, Jubilee and Psylocke will star in the title and guess what?
NO WOLVERINE!

Since their first appearance 50 years ago, the X-Men have had a history of strong female characters, even before it was cool. Wood has had many of them in his books, too, going back to Generation X in 2000 — his first paid gig in comics — and his recent X-Men.This should be an interesting book! I'm excited!
However, with this new X-Men he gets all the A-list X-women: The book's main star is Jubilee, but it also includes Storm, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey and Psylocke.
"I feel like as far as the X-Men go, the women are the X-Men," Wood explains. "Cyclops and Wolverine are big names, but taken as a whole, the women kind of rule the franchise.
"If you look at the entire world as a whole, it's the females that really dominate and are the most interesting and cool to look at. When you have a great artist drawing them, they look so amazing and always have."
And Coipel is drawing it too!!! Mwah!!!!! I will miss his men though...funny they give the gay artist the all chick book. LOL! Well somebody had to draw it! I just remember always being the only guy they would assign girl graphics to back in the day.
ReplyDeleteWHY DOES STORM HAVE THE FACE OF A WHITE WOMAN? OR AT LEAST A BLACK REALITY STAAR WITH A NOSE JOB?
ReplyDelete@Daddy-Storm has always, and I mean always been drawn as a white woman shaded brown. Very few artists change that and when they do it is noticeable. Let's be real. That has a lot to do with the notion of what "pretty" is and european beauty standards.
ReplyDeleteShe is a black woman with euro features, blue eyes and long white hair with no hotcomb in sight. This is not new. Yet and still she is a black woman and you can most assuredly find black women who share similar facial features with her. (Iman, Naomi Campbell, etc.)
