The Spectre may be coming on TV

DC Entertainment is pushing The Spectre as the next TV project:
Fox has bought The Spectre, a drama series project based on the DC Comics superhero character co-created by Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily. Brandon Camp (John Doe) will write the adaptation and executive produce with feature producer Bill Gerber (Gran Torino).

The Spectre, which has received a script commitment, centers on a former cop serving time in afterlife limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead — and mortals soon to be dead if ultimate justice is not served.
Not one of my favorite DC characters, but who knows.

  1. I liked the little mini-toon they did with him in the 70's movie style. (It was an extra on one of their direct t DVD movies.) But I doubt a show would have a budget to do something similar. The Spectre is supposed to be an emissary of God. God's avenging hand. That has a lot of scary implications for a tv show. But you're right I never really understood the Spectre or got into him much. Wonder if they'll make him the black guy, the white guy or Hal Jordan?
