Dharun Ravi indicted for Tyler Clementi's Suicide

Dharun was indicted on bias intimidation and other charges for using a spy cam on his roommate, Tyler Clementi. This careless action led to Tyler's suicide.
A 15-count indictment was handed up Wednesday by a Middlesex County grand jury against Dharun Ravi, of Plainsboro, who had already faced invasion of privacy charges along with another student, Molly Wei.

The indictment charges Ravi with bias, invasion of privacy, witness and evidence tampering, and other charges stemming from the suicide of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi in September. The indictment said charges against Wei would not be presented to the grand jury "at this time."

Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River shortly after authorities say Ravi and Wei used a webcam to peek at his liaison. Lawyers for Ravi say the webcam stream was viewed only on a single computer and did not show the men having sex.

  1. Here's hoping Ravi is found guilty on all 15 counts.

  2. Fifteen counts? What did they leave out?

I hope he's guilty of all charges.

  3. This whole story is tragic for all parties involved. I'm sure Ravi must feel like a class ass now that his own life (freedom) is about to be taken from him (if he ends up in jail). Don't think I feel sorry for him, I don't. Just another example for people to THINK before they act....

  4. People don't realize how stupid some of the things they do are. I hate that the kid killed himself, but its right that justice is served. They should find Ravi guilty on all charges.

  5. Feeling some satisfaction over his very public legal troubles. Unfortunately, the conviction of any of the perpetrators over the last year won't bring our young people back. It's hard to feel any real satisfaction, knowing that.
