  1. At work: Receptionist at Hospice of SE Michigan. Could hardly believe it when I heard the news.

  2. I was in the sixth grade. I grew up and currently live in that area. My Father did repair work on the shuttle and used to suit up the astronauts before missions. My classmates and I were standing outside watching the launch when it exploded. We really had no idea what was going on. The teachers came outside and were crying as they announced over the PA System that it had blown up. We thought some had survived because we could see what looked like a parachute coming down in the air. We were wrong.

  3. At school. It was in between classes when it happened so I didn't know what was going on until I saw a teacher walk out of her classroom bawling.

  4. I was in college, in New Hampshire and spent the day watching/listening to the news coverage about it with some friends.
The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, in Concord, NH is a wonderful place and was recently expanded when the Shepard Discovery Center was added to the McAuliffe Planetarium.
