Question of the Day: Walking Dead Edition

I just saw The Walking Dead last night. I LOVED it! But I want to know what did you think about the premier (for those who watched it)?

Either this was written by the guy who wrote "28 Days Later", or there may be some copyright infringement going on.

I was lucky enough to be channel surfing last night and came across Dead Set on IFC. It centers around the Big Brother house (in England) when the Zombie plague begins.

It plays more like a movie than a tv show. It airs again on Wed 11/10 in its entirety from 6:05 pm - 8 pm.

While I thought The Walking Dead was good, I was disappointed to see the same opening as 28 Days Later and a copy of "the pain" zombie from Return of the Living Dead - one of my favorite zombies ever.

Yeah, same here. Not feeling the "wake up to a zombie frenzy" thing. I was hoping to see the outbreak and progression. I'm sure the cause will somehow be discovered slowly as a main plot.

I can't wait for Michonne to show up as well as the Prison and the gay couple!! Let's hope it makes it that long!

I agree with some of the comments above. I thought the same thing upon reading the comic, but after a few issues I realized that it was very far removed from 28 days later. The main characters journey in this is EPIC!! I really recommend seeing if your library has graphic novels of this so that you can be as enthused as I am to see it continue! Great title which should be a great show!

All I can say is keep watching, if they stick to the comic it will only get better and better!

Isn't she Vic!! She is BAAAD!!

@Yves-I think the zombie movies tend to never really be about what caused the outbreak, curing it, or the zombies at all really but about how humans react to the new environment and situation. How much people change depending on the circumstances be it for good or bad. The advantage with Walking Dead is that they explore multiple aspects of this world and isn't limited to an hour and a half to investigate it.

I think they did a great job with being graphic, and at the same time setting up several story lines. We will be watching.
