It's the 30th Anniversary of the Greatest Movie ever made... XANADU

Y'all know I'm obsessed with this movie. Countless times, I have referenced this film in some form or fashion.

But seriously, Xanadu changed my life. The songs, the scenes, Olivia just cracked open my creative mind. I start drawing, roller skating, singing and wearing over-sized T-shirts so I could exposed my shoulders like Olivia.
So to wrap this up, I will post some favorite clips of the best movie on earth.

Oh, I can do this all day

  2. Damn! Olivia was BAD wasn't she!! What a talented Diva!! And how wonderfully creative and artistic was this movie! I know it was hated by critics but I remember liking it when I was little.(Granted I was little) Why did it get such bad reviews?

I wish we had been the same age and in the same place growing up. We so would have gotten on SWIMMINGLY!
I thought I was the only one who loved wearing over sized shirts for the shoulder factor...lol

  6. I would have driven to Union City to hang out with you. I sure thought I was the only gay boy in the world back then.

  7. oh, and a bonus-- you can watch ONJ fall for the then gorgeous Matt Lattanzi onscreen.
I bet she had something to do with his being placed up front in the group dance scenes.

  8. I've seen various parts but was never impressed with the movie. After reading your love of it, I just finished watching it and have a new appreciation. ONJ looked really fierce!

The one think I hate about watching musicals from the 70' through the late 80's is knowing that like 75% of the male dancers have probably died of AIDS and I can't help but mourn the loss of talent, beauty and life.
