Y'all know I'm obsessed with this movie. Countless times, I have referenced this film in some form or fashion.
But seriously, Xanadu changed my life. The songs, the scenes, Olivia just cracked open my creative mind. I start drawing, roller skating, singing and wearing over-sized T-shirts so I could exposed my shoulders like Olivia.
So to wrap this up, I will post some favorite clips of the best movie on earth.

ReplyDeleteDamn! Olivia was BAD wasn't she!! What a talented Diva!! And how wonderfully creative and artistic was this movie! I know it was hated by critics but I remember liking it when I was little.(Granted I was little) Why did it get such bad reviews?

I've seen various parts but was never impressed with the movie. After reading your love of it, I just finished watching it and have a new appreciation. ONJ looked really fierce!
ReplyDeleteThe one think I hate about watching musicals from the 70' through the late 80's is knowing that like 75% of the male dancers have probably died of AIDS and I can't help but mourn the loss of talent, beauty and life.
