I so agree with Larry. They were only there as a symbol. They really were not wanted, but were "allowed" a presence. The NOM homophobic group were also there, with a seemingly stronger presence and stronger voice. They more represent the true spirit of the conservative movement. The presence of GOProud was conciliatory. Gays will never be "allowed" (I used the word intentionally) to have a strong presence or representation in the GOP.
No. They can't, because even among their base their were ridiculed and criticized at the conference. So it is unlikely that they will be able to be power players in DC when they can't even get a chance to speak at their own conference.
It must have been a pain to sit the audience and listen to people demagogue you in your face.
