Somebody lay hands on Indiana

Indiana is clowing. They are moving forward with a marriage amendment, SJR-13, which will ban gay marriage and civil unions.

Here's more:
The legislation passed on a vote of 6-4 party line vote with one Senator out of the chamber at the time of the vote. The amendment is now eligible for a full vote on the Senate floor where it's expected to pass handily.

The Indiana State Senate has an overwhelming majority of Republicans.
The amendment would still have to pass the Indiana State House of Representatives before it could move on to the next stage needed on the way to a public referendum, The amendment is expected to fail in that chamber. Democrats hold the majority in the Indiana House.
Let's hope for the best. LGBT lobbyists get to working to stop this foolishness.
