New True Blood Casting News




















New folks for the 3rd season of TB!
  1. Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard - who appeared for an extended run on Desperate Housewives during the 2005-06 season - has landed the role of Lafayette's mother. This also means she's Tara's aunt, of course.
  2. Speaking of Tara, her third season love interest has been cast: James Frain will portray the vampire Franklin Mott, a character from the book series that acted as Tara's sugar daddy. HBO casting notices describe Mott as "handsome" and as someone with an “immediate and torrid” connection to Tara.

    What exciting casting news! Alfre is a wonderful actress, who I think is terribly under-utilized, and Frain was very sexy in the series The Tudors.

    I cannot wait to see Woodard in action. I can see her being Lafayette's match, but also causing some mischief herself.

    If I remember correctly this will be an original piece since Lafayette was killed off in the book correct?

    I am kind of sad that Tara does not get with Sam, but Frain looks like a good substitute (for now).

    Great news V. Any scene with Alfre Woodard in it will be awesome. Stan and I love her and I'm very upset she doesn't get more attention as an actress. Hollywood needs to grow up.

    OOohhh Wee!!!! I can't wait to see her square off against her sister!! Well, hopefully anyway. You never know, she could team up with her sister to try to knock some sense into her son and neice. Regardless....Buh buh buh buh buh..I'm lovin' it!! ;)

    I'm a big fan of Alfre Woodard's and look forward to seeing her on this. I get sort of squeamish quite a bit but have gotten through the first two series.
