Keith Bardwell is an Asshole!

Sometimes, I'm ashamed of being Southern and here's why.

In Louisiana, Keith Bardwell, who's the justice of the peace, refused to give a marriage license to an interracial couple.

Why? Well, this ass mess had 2 reasons, 1) out of concern for any children the couple might have and 2) interracial marriages do not last long.

"I do ceremonies for black couples right here in my house," Bardwell said. "My main concern is for the children."

"I don't do interracial marriages because I don't want to put children in a situation they didn't bring on themselves," Bardwell said. "In my heart, I feel the children will later suffer.

The denied couple will be filling discrimination complaint on this fool.

Good Grief

  1. My husband and I are an interracial couple who have two amazing little boys 5 yrs. and 7 yrs. We have been together for almost 9 yrs now. Bardwell's belief that interracial couple don't stay together long comes from what? His racist mind!!! I tell Bardwell give it up now, cause when this couple and society are done with you, you could only hope of holding onto your Justice of the Peace position. I wish the newlyweds all the best.

  4. He should be sued. He cannot impose his beliefs on people when he works for the government. Pathetic.

  5. Bardwell is such an embarassment. There is definitely a special place in hell for people like this. I only hope he's childless and unwed. His family line needs to end.

  6. Will someone shoot this guy in the ass and let him die a slow death..What the heck is going on in this country?? Has the man ever been out of the state?? Since when is Louisiana the center of the United States?? This is why the South gets a bad name!!!

  8. My father is of Indian background and raised in East Africa. he appears to look Pakistani but sounds like a typical midwesterner when he speaks. My mother is white as white can be - having met my father at BU in 1967. they have been married for 42 years -with (3) sons, myself - an architect, my middle brother - an attorney, and my youngest brother - a Ugandan missionary. This Justuce of the Peace needs to stick his head up his you know what and NEVER pull it out again. Kick him off his post please!

  10. Maybe someone should remind this looney that the President of the United States is one of "these children" he's so concerned about... um, well he's done just fine for himself, wouldn't you say Bardwell?

  11. Perhaps he needs to have a sit down with Prez. Obama. Obama can teach him a thing or two about interracial children, and the family that loves and supports them.

  12. @Anonymous 4:44pm... Yea.. um.. I highly doubt a black person would say, "I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else."

  13. What an idiot! He is the type of person making it difficult for "the children"

  15. Yikes!!
My husband and I have been married for 11 years and have two beautiful multi-racial girls, 4 and 6. They are amazing inside and out. They appreciate culture and see color difference as a chance to learn about others(even at thier ages). Im so sad that my girls will encounter such people in the future.... my prayers are with his sad little narrow mind! We are Floridians and yes, it is an issue in the south....

  16. My husband and I are professionals (MD and PhD) living in New York. We happen to be an interracial couple (though we would feel the same on this issue even if we were not) and have been happily married for 2 years. Its such an outrage that this man feels he can break the law. However, he is obviously not too bright as he incriminated himself with his own quotes with the Associated Press. Pass this news along as a way to educate others how backwards some people still are...

  17. Come on...he says he has piles of black friends. They use his bathroom.

  18. Regadless what race he is, it is a ridiculous statement to make and a meritless stance to take. I am the product of a multiracial union. Both of my parents have at least one biracial parent. They are both in their 60's. I was fortunate enough to be born into a family that, when I came home from the hospital as a baby, I family from the blackest of black to the whitest of white looking down into my crib and all they wanted to do was love me. I thought that everyone was born into a family like mine because that was all that I knew. It was very disheartening to learn that everyone didn't feel the same way that my family did.

I will be 40 years old in June and I am proud to say that I am a well adjusted college graduate with parents that are still happily married.

This man is an disgrace to any race for his stance on this matter. He should be sued and sued BIG! We may not be able to change his mind, but we can change his net worth!

  19. No....its not just you. This is a shocking thing to see at this point in history. I am reading this story in Canada and it makes me happy to see such an outcry against this horrible foolishness. This type of thing is still going on - everywhere. It almost a good thing (if it had to happen at all) that it happened in the South because people and the press are going to be ALL OVER IT. There is no tolerance in the rest of the world for this crap in the South. It is just too, too ugly.

  20. IDIOT - in today's times you would people would get over being this way - but I guess being stupid is being stupid!

  21. Good For him! And he is NOT breaking the law!!!!! These people can go anywhere else or to anyone else to marry (just not him).

Finally someone standing up for their beliefs (right or wrong). This is not racism. It is a person standing up for what they believe in. I just wish the ACLU would back HIM.

  22. oh, by the way for the person who wrote about Obama and how well he has done in his life...you missed the point. He didn't say either one would not do well in their life. He said interacial marriages don't last long. Obama's parents did, in fact, divorce...HELLO!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes Obama's parents did divorce...Just like over 50% of married couples, inter and intraracial, in the United States do you anonymous DUMB FUCK!

Sorry for swearing but the previous comment was all over retarded.

  24. You should be ashamed of being a southerner all the time.

  25. Inter racial children are a beautiful mix of both parents... Me, being a 'white' Canadian with a beautiful daughter from my handsome Mexican-ex. Our child embraces both cultures she was born into, not to mention both languages.

  26. (Mr. Toddyenglish,
You are correct about marriages, however, if you had read the comments above you would know to which I was refering to.) Also, if you took a couple +years and read judgements made in court proceedings around the country, you would not only see the same thing as this but worse. (not only judges refusing to marry couples but using their beliefs to carry out all kinds of ridiculous judgements) Everyone from the Pres. and down imposes their beliefs (right or wrong) in their work.
Next, "shoot this guy in the ass and let him die a slow death"...sounds like a belief in the death penalty over an idea/belief....is this America or what? By the same token that you are even able to write these words about a Judge and not be hunted down and executed; he enjoys that same right (as idiotic as both are).
And Lastly, I find it amusing that you are blasting people from the south. Look (and listen)around. (Talk about discrimination!)

To Anonymous - Would you like it if someone's belief that you couldn't do what you wanted because of your race was supported by the ACLU and then made law?? Morons standing up for their beliefs are still morons!

oh, by the way, you missed the point. Why don't you go read the entire news articles elsewhere before you mouth off? Bardwell did also say, "he doesn't marry the couples because he's worried about their children's futures" .... which basically means he doesn't think they're going to do too well in life. Uh, Helloooooo! moron
