Have you heard the clip of his usage? It's not coming across to me as any sort of active hate speech against gays. I (as a member of the gay community) have used similar verbiage. Was I stupid enough to use it at a WAC press conference? Nope. But the severity of the punishment is going into Orwell's ThoughtCrime territory.
