VH1 Brings back DIVAS


Y'all remember VH1 DIVAS.

The over the top musical event that brought us Mariah's big ass weave and Whitney's classic performance with Cece Winans. Good times.

Well, they are bringing it back with Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus? Really?

Maybe they will add more Divas.

    I used to love the Diva shows. The first few were the best. Then the shows got too big, too many names. The earlier shows with 5-6 Divas doing their thing was a much better produced show. I'd like to see them get back to that format. I'm not sure about this lineup of Divas. Miley?

    Gag. Miley? Adele and Leona will steal the show. I don't like the current extra poppy Kelly Clarkson, but she's still cool.

    I know everyone's commenting about Miley Cyrus, but... Are Kelly Clarkson, Adele, and Leona Lewis even "Divas" yet?

    None of them match the power of the past Divas (Whitney, Mariah, Cher, Gloria). Hell, even Faith Hill and Shakira have more Diva staus than these girls.

    I guess I may just have a more traditional definition of a Diva, since I don't even think Beyonce deserves the title. Yet.

    Yeah, the Miley thing? I guess when my four year old nephew loves her unconditionally, it's not all that different a feeling for him as it would be if we were talking about Cher would be to us. That and she's helping the Disney machine continue to haul in loads of cash. So why not I guess? Idk

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they add Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and dare I say Shakira.

    Yeah, I aggree on the sentiments of Miley Cyrus. I'm a huge music connoisseurs of a number of genres, and I can't name a single song of hers either. They need to try again with that because she is only popular with those how are below the age of 21.

    Adelle, Kelly Clarkson, and Miley Cyrus; not exactly what I would call Divas in attitude or career.

    Most of the older Divas were really well off into their career, legends basically, when VH1 created the show. I think for many that you have listed it is far to early.

    Give Adele a couple more years then yeah, for sure.
