Question of the Day: About HRC and DADT Rumors

Apparently there's a rumor that the HRC made a deal to push back DADT to focus on the Hate Crimes Bill and Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

This is still a rumor BTW, regardless of the news in the blogs.

Anyway...let's imagine for a moment that the info was completely true. With both Hate Crimes Bill and Employment Non-Discrimination Act put in place and a later focus on DADT, I ask you...Is that a huge problem?

Hate Crimes Bill and Employment Non-Discrimination Act benefits a great deal of us. In fact, I think it effects more folks than DADT.

So again, if this was true...Would that be such a bad thing?

  1. I don't see it as a problem at all. Let's tackle the "easy stuff" first, then together we'll go after that harder sell.

Whether fact or fiction, it only puts the HRC more inline, imho, with the Obama time line anyway.

  2. I agree with you. The thing that gets me about the whole thing, though, is the seeming underhandedness of it all. If true, it comes of a bit shady and dishonest.

  3. I'm on board with you. Progress is forward motion, and that is what is needed. You can't run without taking a few steps first.

... Sorry, trying to see if there were any more cliche's I could think of. Guess not.

  4. It's not easy winning the hearts and minds of people. That is why more people need to come out, so those hating on the GLBT community, will start to realize we are everywhere, and a vital contributing part of the community.

  5. I do agree that hate crimes and ENDA does need to be handled first. These two issues affect everyone and not just handful of people. Then later on upon the accomplishment of obtaining employment and hate crime protections we can take on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".
