I think using terms like 'breaking promises' or 'abandoned' are jumping the gun just a little too much... When he was campaining, we all had hopes and believed in his promises, but we knew it would take time... Now that he's in office, a lot of people have lost that hope in favor of wanting everything to be done immediately.
I also think he feeds this impatience by remaining silent in regards to recent pro-gay marriage decisions and DADT. The silence is deafening.
He does have quite a bit on his plate right now. Who thought these states would do what they have and with more to come? That military part of DADT needs to change, though.
I have hope, but I am feeling a wee bit ignored by a man who so openly courted us.

I think the pressure is building on the issue and on him, it's a good thing.
