No Jazz Hands for You

Joe Powell, a ex-Mormon and performer has an interesting plan. He wants the music industry to refuse licensing certain material to LDS musical groups.

Powell says, “They can't have it both ways. They can't say they love us and take away our rights. I feel all gay artists should not allow their art, music, dance or theatrical piece to be used to promote the Mormon Church.... Please do not support them and do not allow them to use your work to support their message of hate."

That's a good point. They can't have it both ways and we should continue sending the message that if you mess with us, you're f**ked. But back to the story, Powell has already talked to folks like Stephen Schwartz, the composer of the musical “Wicked" about the issue. He hopes to get this boycott moving soon. So good luck to Jon, I hope the message is sent.
