If ever there was a case for unvarnished sex education in public schools, the ongoing AIDS epidemic in black America ought to be it. Instead of education, what we get more often than not is homophobic nonsense from the pulpits of our black churches.

I wish that preachers of color (black and otherwise) would realize that their homophobic rhetoric is directly linked to instances of discreet, anonymous, and dangerous sex.
ReplyDeleteHere in the conservative Central Valley, we have a horrible trend of hispanic young men who are closeted, dangerous, and having unprotected sex all the time with people they meet online.
Education is key.
