REPOST: My Scary True Story

Many years ago, my friend invited me over to his house for a sleepover. He lived on the opposite side of town where most of the homes had spacious yards and many, many trees.

If I remember correctly, my friend didn't like his house and was scared to be there alone. Usually, his sister was around and always had a friend over on the weekends. That particular night, his parents were out and she spent most of her time in her room.

After a few hours of G.I. Joe videos and stuffing pizza down our throats, my friend and I went to bed. However, I couldn't sleep because his sheets were prickly and it was too warm in his room. So I went over to the window to crack it open for some air.

And that's when I noticed a man staring at the neighbor's house. I only saw the back of him, I couldn't tell if he was bald or if he just had a round head. I stood there watching him until he finally moved. He walked up to the house and start writing on the window. Then, he backed up and turned around. I hid so he couldn't see me, but it was too late, he saw me.

He was bald, and very skinny almost like a skeleton. He stood for several minutes and then, he waved.

I waved back and just like that, he walked away.

The next day I told my friend about what I saw. We went over to the neighbor's house to see what was written on the window... It was a face with a frown on it. My friend told his neighbors and they quickly called the cops.

'Til this day, no one ever found out who did it. I never told the cops or my friend about the stranger waving at me. I thought if I said a word, it wouldn't be real anymore; that moment would cease to exist. But it was more than that. I realized I liked the fear and terror I felt that night. It was a rush, an weird but refreshing rush. For that moment, I interacted with some crazy person and that was very exciting to me.

In fact, that little event help started my love affair with horror and scary things.

As far as I know...He's still out there.

Horror books that could be great Horror Movies

Let's face it...Horror movies are sucking puss-filled schlongs right now. All of these remakes and broke ass plots are killing my favorite genre. So since everyone is rehashing old movies, why not look somewhere else...like Horror novels.

I have found some novels that could be excellent movies if done right. I loved these books; I either read some of these twice or read it in one swoop.

Sins of the Flesh

Jesse Sikes lives only to hunt, kill, and eat, and his favorite prey is human. For Jesse Sikes is a wendigo, a carnivorous monster clothed in black and silver fur--a creature who can transform himself at will into a tall, handsome man to better stalk his prey! But his mother has kept him at bay with magic for 20 years, however she's dying and Jesse is hungry.

I read this at 16 and later at 34, I love the characters and the base of the story. It would be a different twist to worn out were-monster tale.

One Rainy Night

A shroud of rain covers the town of Bixby, coating the inhabitants in an unending torrent - and turning them into hate-filled maniacs. Soaking-wet, a queue of cinema-goers smash their way inside to slice up the dry people within, while a loving wife crushes her husband's skull on the marble floor.

Laymon is such a great writer. I could NOT put this book down. If the right script writer got a hold of this...Blockbuster. Oh, and it's gory.

The Pet

In the small town of Ashford, N.J., young Don Boyd contends with more than his share of problems and pressures: the high school jocks who are bullying him, the girls he doesn't know how to talk to, the breakup of his parents' marriage, and the fact that because his father is the principal of his school the teachers involved in a labor dispute are taking it out on Don. Add one homicidal maniac, dubbed the Howler, who's already killed and mutilated several teenagers in New York. Don responds to his fears and desires by summoning up a powerful if ghostly stallion from one of his wall posters. The horse makes Don a hero by dispatching the Howler, but then it prowls the neighborhood, killing Don's tormentors and threatening his friends.

This book was a great read. I was lost (in a good way) in this story and thought it would perfect to see this on film.

Coven

In the silent college town of Exham, strange women appear with a ravenous need for human flesh. The summer school student have no idea what's store or if they will make it to see the next day.

This is a wonderful gory tale. It's a throwback to the 80s, wild college life, sex, horror stuff. I would love to see this story on the silver screen, it challenges the boring slasher tales and brings something new to the table.

So those are my picks for good Horror flicks.

John Carpenter will bring the 90's hit comic, Darkchylde to the big Screen

John is back with a hot new comic book movie project. However, to us comic fans we are quite familiar with this comic... Do you remember DARKCHYLDE?

STYD has the dish

John Carpenter and Sandy King's Storm King Productions have allied with Randy and Sarah Queen's Darkchylde Entertainment to produce the film, following the release of that aforementioned test footage created by Richard Taylor's Academy Award Winning Weta Workshop.

John Carpenter says, "Randy Queen's hijacked angel, Ariel Chylde, is the best young female character since Laurie Strode in Halloween. Bringing Ariel and her dark mysteries to life should be quite an adventure for us all."

Adds Queen,
"I'm beyond thrilled that John Carpenter, one of our most important, and legendary genre directors, and the man responsible for such landmark films as The Thing, and Halloween has come on board with Weta Workshop to help bring the nightmarish tale of Ariel Chylde to the silver screen. As a horror fan, the thought of Carpenter and Weta together, beautiful dreamscapes, and multiple transformations, makes me incredibly excited. There is a reason nearly his entire catalogue has, or is being remade, and it's because Carpenter is a genius."

Offering a stark contrast to super hero comics,
Darkchylde was a breakout sensation of the late 90's and early 2000's, garnering immediate acclaim, and an unusually large female fanbase.

Interesting development

Happy Halloween

Hi All

The "Kill the Gays" Bill is not DEAD, it may still Pass

I thought, hoped it was over, but it's not.

The infamous Kill the Gays bill lives and may soon pass.
The member of the Ugandan Parliament behind a controversial "anti-gay" bill that would call for stiff penalties against homosexuality -- including life imprisonment and the death penalty -- says that the bill will become law "soon."

"We are very confident," David Bahati told CNN, "because this is a piece of legislation that is needed in this country to protect the traditional family here in Africa, and also protect the future of our children."
Governments that have donated aid to Uganda and human rights groups applied massive pressure since the bill was proposed a year ago, and most believed that the bill had been since shelved.
Not so, says Bahati, adding, "Every single day of my life now I am still pushing that it passes."

Ugh, I hate that David Bahati! Also here's another slam. Giles Muhame, an editor of Rolling Stone, talks about how homosexuality is a virus and just plain wrong.

McDonald's Franchise Owner tells employees to vote for the GOP, or they don't get their Benefits

This is some bullsh*t right here! Franchise owner Paul Siegfried told his employees this mess, actually he told them in this letter:

SKMBT_C45110102908110 -
After the employees complained to a lawyer and word got out, Siegfried apologized, saying:

"Distributing this communication was an error of judgment on my part. Please know it was never my intention to offend anyone. For those that I have offended, I sincerely apologize."

McDonald put out a statement saying that the company respects its employees' opinions, and "had no knowledge of this material being distributed" by its franchisee.

I think he should be FIRED.

Ryan Kwanten will play Charles Manson

Jason Stackhouse will play a historic serial killer? Yes.
Ryan Kwanten, of True Blood fame, has been cast as cold-blooded killer Charles Manson in an upcoming film titled The Family. I can’t remember, was Charles Manson buff in his prime?
Kwanten broke the news at a press day for his latest movie, the Australian spaghetti western Red Hill. Additionally, Kwanten told journalists that he’s set to star in and produce the Australian film The Twenty-Something Survival Guide, and he’ll also appear in an upcoming adaptation of the satirical self-help bookThe G Strategy.

Interesting role.

Equality California Volunteer found a Noose on their office door and a Cop says: "Sometimes you just have to live with being a victim."

EQCA volunteer, Mel Distel found a noose hanging from their office door. Pretty shaken, Mel called the police, however that experience didn't make things any better.

Here's her take on what happened:

I couldn't get the image out of my head. I smoked a cigarette outside the office and my thoughts were spinning. I felt jumpy, and was startled when any person or car crossed my line of vision. This was a message of hate, and I felt unsafe. Inside the office, our phone bankers were shocked and hurting. They continued on with their phone bank calls (vote for Melissa Fox) and worked to stay focused on the task at hand.

I could not focus. I could barely make calls. I waited for the police to arrive, believing that when they did I would feel safe and affirmed.

When the police arrived, two officers spoke to Daniel and myself outside. The male officer dominated the conversation. There was nothing they could do, of course, there was no suspect and no crime had been committed. The officer said "what it is, is a string on a door." My vision got blurry, I was embarrased and felt stupid for making the call. I took a deep breath and said "Do you see any correlation between the fact that this is a gay office and there was a noose left on our door in the wake of all of these teen suicides?" The officer said, "Sometimes you just have to live with being a victim," and proceeded to mention that his car had been broken into before. As if that's the same. As if having your stereo stolen is anything like the message "You should kill yourself." As if random theft is anything like an act meant to convey hate and stir up fear in the heart of a minority group.

I want to thank Karla for having a long discussion with the sargeant about the situation. No, it was not legally a hate crime, because there was no crime (just hate). And the officer likely did not intend to come off the way he did.

But I'm still in shock. I pray that no officer ever tells a bullied teen that, "sometimes you just have to live with being a victim." The officer made me feel foolish for being shocked and afraid. I feel stupid and unjustified. Our volunteers felt hurt, angered and confused.

Why would a cop say something like that? Ridic! That officer needs to be held accountable for that.

The 2 Rutgers Students have Withdrawn from School

The two Rutger students responsible for the suicide of Tyler Clementi's suicide, has withdrawn from school.

Steven Altman of New Brunswick, the attorney for Dharun Ravi, Clementi's roommate, said the withdrawals of Ravi of Plainsboro and his co-defendant Molly Wei of Princeton, both 18, mean neither face university disciplinary hearings.

"They were given the option of withdrawing and they can reapply,'' Altman said. "Realistically, they couldn't go back no matter what. He definitely plans to go somewhere else.''

Altman said both students withdrew earlier this month, but he did not have an exact date.

He was unable to comment on what Ravi has been doing since removing himself from school.
Withdrawal was raised as a possibility by university officials during phone conversations in early October, Altman said.
Their withdrawal sparked a group called, Queering the Air to protest:
The group also condemned comments made on several websites that mentioned the two students' Asian background and posted messages that urged the two to "return to their countries,'' according to Felton.

"We are against the crucifixion of two individuals for the sins of the larger society,'' said Robert O'Brien, an anthropology instructor and one of the leaders of Queering the Air.
According to Felton, the group, and other organizations on campus that represent gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students, have "re-claimed'' the word queer, once considered an offensive slur.
Among the chants led by O'Brien Wednesday night were, "Queer liberation. Human liberation. It's all one struggle.''

In a press release, the group condemned Garden State Equality, an advocacy group that demanded Ravi and Wei be charged with hate crimes and receive "the maximum possible sentence.''
Goldstein, the director of Garden State Equality, the largest advocacy organization in the state for gays and lesbians, called Queering the Air a "radical fringe group.''

Which Characters will appear in Wolvie 2?

I found a list of characters that will appear in the next Wolverine movie. For you true comic geeks, you will recognize most of them from the very 1st Wolverine Mini-Series done in 1983.
So here is the list
Zen: A Japanese man “who arranges for Logan’s release” from a Candian prison and “offers to answer questions about his origin if he’ll accompany him to Tokyo”.
Shingen: Shingen’s father was the master of The Hand, an order of ninja. Instead of allowing his son to take leadership of the order, Shingen’s father killed himself and left the Hand without a master. This pretty much defines Shingen now. That’s how it works in these kinds of stories.
Kenuichio: Shingen’s illegitimate son, but not recognised as an heir. An expert Samurai, he will adopt his “Silver Samurai” guise in the movie and attack Logan “several times”.
Mariko: Shingen’s daughter, and Logan’s chief love interest.
Yukio: Logan’s bodyguard and lust interest.
Frank Sinatra: “Japan’s answer to Frank Sinatra. A Yakuza higher-up who provides Logan with information”.
Okay, this movie could be cute... We will see

Cops search for the Attacker(s) of a Transgender woman

In Hollywood, a Transgendered woman was attacked almost near the cross streets of LaBrea & Melrose. Cops are looking for the attacker(s)

View more news videos at: http://www.nbclosangeles.com/video.

Los Angeles police investigators continued their search Thursday for five suspects in connection with an attack on a transgender woman in Hollywood that left the 25-year-old victim bloodied and battered with a broken jaw and cheekbone.
The victim had just left a bar near the intersection of La Brea and Melrose avenues early on the morning of Oct. 1 when she was attacked by three women and two men. According to witnesses, the attackers were beating and kicking the victim in the middle of the street, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mitzi Grasso.
The victim was kicked in the face and was hit on the head with a bottle, leaving cuts on the victim's neck.
The victim lives in the San Fernando Valley. Police have not yet classified the attack as a hate crime but said the investigation was continuing, said Grasso, who called the attack "unusually vicious."
The suspects fled in a white Chevy Suburban. Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD Wilshire Division's Major Assault Crimes Section at (213) 922-9234 or (213) 922-8268.

This should be considered a hate crime.

WATCH Anderson Cooper talk to Clint McCance... Clint said he will Resign

From CNN
McCance said that he has received an outpouring of criticism over his comments, including "thousands of phone calls, hate mails, people threatening to kill my family and me."
He said he has sent his wife and two kids out of the state because of fears for their safety and that he is installing a security system at his home.
"I'm reaping what I've sown," he told CNN. "I've had a lot of hate speech thrown at me and my family on every level."
He said he would resign from the school board to spare the district the bad press and distractions of dealing with the fallout from his comments. "If they decide after five or ten years to vote me back in, then I'll run again," he said.

Boys Snogging Boys is growing in the UK

Here's an interesting bit of news. An study has revealed that boys fancy a snog from other boys sometimes.
Based on in-depth interviews of 145 British university and high-school students, Anderson and his colleagues discovered that 89 percent had kissed a male heterosexual friend on the lips at some point. A total of 37 percent had engaged in "sustained" kissing with another man, Anderson said. The men all identified as straight, and they didn't see the kisses as sexual.
"These men have lost their homophobia," Anderson said. "They're no longer afraid to be thought gay by their behaviors, and they enjoy intimacy with their friends, just the same as women."
A recent trend
The trend toward male same-sex smooches has skyrocketed in recent years, Anderson said. It began on the professional soccer field, where players often share exuberate kisses after goals. That made kissing between men acceptable for college and high-school players, Anderson said. Then the players took the same behaviors to nights out in pubs, spreading the trend to non-athletes.
Despite stereotypes of the homophobic jock, athletes were more likely to have kissed another man than non-athletes. Just over 80 percent of non-athletes had kissed a man, compared with 95 percent of athletes. [Related: Sex Quiz: Myths, Taboos and Bizarre Facts]
Of the guys in the study who hadn't shared a same-sex kiss, all found the practice acceptable. One student who had never kissed another lad joked with the researchers that when he told his friends about the study, they'd probably ensure that his classification changed. That night, Anderson received a text from the student reading, "I'm in the majority now."

Maybe they should look into this phenomenon in America.

Gay Representatives send an open letter to the LGBT Community

In a letter, Barney Frank, Tammy Baldwin and Jared Polis reminds the LGBT Community how important this election is:
Dear Friends,
Elections matter.
Yes, we’ve all heard that simple phrase before – but so often we forget it. And as we stand on the doorstep of an election that will again decide the course of our government, our community is locked into an energetic and serious debate about how to engage, or whether to even engage at all in the midterm elections this November.
Why? Our community is frustrated with the pace of change. And as three LGBT Members of Congress, we share your frustration.  Despite this, an apathetic stance during such a critical time is fruitless.
We need not look too far into the past to see how inaction and
complacency truly pays us back.  Under Republican rule, we not only suffered from a lack of victories, but truly devastating setbacks. We all remember President Bush and the Republican Congress pushing for a Federal Marriage Amendment for political purposes and using our community as a wedge to advocate for state-wide marriage amendments across the nation. Republicans make no secret of their opposition to seemingly nonpartisan issues such as adoption by gay & lesbian couples despite the thousands of children in need of homes.
And we all remember federal agencies being told to ignore any grant request that said gay or LGBT, including grants for HIV/AIDS funding.
There has, indeed, been progress under the Obama Administration. In the 111th Congress, we passed the Matthew Shepherd and James Byrd Jr. Federal Hate Crimes Act, admittedly no small feat, while the State Department adopted inclusive passport procedures recognizing and accommodating our transgender brothers and sisters. Our voice was further strengthened when we achieved medical decision parity in America’s hospitals and strengthened polices that prevented discrimination against housing applicants based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Is it enough? No. The fight for equality is far from over. We face obstruction at every turn and it is incumbent upon us  to push harder to ensure swift action on the issues that affect us most.
Next month, the courageous and steadfast activism of the past year must be met by a vote cast on November 2nd. We ask that you look at your local ballot and scrutinize and measure candidates running for each seat. Which candidates do you see supporting issues that affect our community, which will champion our causes? Whether it is for employment non-discrimination, the repeal of DOMA or Federal Partnership benefits? Which candidates even believe LGBT issues merit space on their campaign website?
Elections matter. They matter to our country and to our community. We must go out and vote this November to ensure the forward momentum we have struggled for continues for our benefit and for that of future generations of LGBT individuals.
Sincerely,
Representatives:
Barney Frank
Tammy Baldwin
Jared Polis

Charlie's Angels are Coming... Back

The show that made million of gays happy, may be back. Charlie's Angels is heading into production.
TV-produced project was originally set up at ABC with a pilot commitment last November with Josh Friedman as a writer. It didn’t go to pilot stage and, after the upfronts, it was put in redevelopment with new writers, Smallville creators/executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar. Back then, it was one of 5 projects put on fast-track development under previous ABC president Steve McPherson.

After McPherson's successor Paul Lee took over in August, there has been chatter that he liked Gough and Millar's script. Top casting director John Papsidera recently was quietly tapped to start some exploratory search for the leads. The project just released an official breakdown and I hear it has locked in Miami as location for the shoot, eyed for January. Gough and Millar are executive producing with Leonard Goldberg, executive producer of the original series, Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen.

This could work, I hope it's diverse.

President Obama's view on Gay Marriage

“I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage. But I also think you’re right that attitudes evolve, including mine. And I think that it is an issue that I wrestle with and think about because I have a whole host of friends who are in gay partnerships. I have staff members who are in committed, monogamous relationships, who are raising children, who are wonderful parents. And I care about them deeply. And so while I’m not prepared to reverse myself here, sitting in the Roosevelt Room at 3:30 in the afternoon, I think it’s fair to say that it’s something that I think a lot about. That’s probably the best you’ll do out of me today.”

Obama may be evolving.

The Arkansas Department of Education has condemned Clint McCance's Anti-Gay remark

Yes, the finally said something! The Arkansas Department of Education condemned Clint's dumbass, anti-gay messages he posted on Facebook.
Here's their statement:

The Arkansas Department of Education has prepared a statement regarding the Facebook posting of Midland School Board member Clint McCance:
The Arkansas Department of Education strongly condemns remarks or attitudes of this kind and is dismayed to see that a school board official would post something of this insensitive nature on a public forum like Facebook. Because Mr. McCance is an elected official, the department has no means of dealing with him directly. However, the department does have staff who investigate matters of bullying in schools and we will monitor and quickly respond to any bullying of students that may occur because of this, as we have with other civil rights issues in the past.
Also MSNBC reported on this foolishness

Diva Moment: Natalie Cole

I love Natalie's version of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Study: Half of all High School students have Bullied someone within the Past Year

This is disturbing news about our teens. Half of all high school students say they have bullied someone within the past year, and most of them have been the victims of bullying.
The study of the "Ethics of American Youth" released Tuesday surveyed more than 40,000 high school students and has been conducted every other year since 1992.

The study by the non-profit Josephson Institute of Ethics also found that one-third of all high school students say that violence is a big problem at their school, and nearly one in four say they do not feel very safe there. The problem is much less pronounced at private schools, where the figures drop to less than 10 percent in those two categories.

Weapons are also a part of the mix with 10 percent of all students saying they took a weapon to school at least once in the past 12 months, and 16 percent admitting that they have been intoxicated at school. More than half admit to hitting someone within the last year because they were upset.

"The combination of bullying, a penchant toward violence when one is angry, the availability of weapons, and the possibility of intoxication at school increases significantly the likelihood of retaliatory violence," said Michael Josephson, founder and president of the Institute.
Schools need to get on it and get this issue under control. Our teens need the support!

Thriller, the Movie? Hera Help Me!

Okay, okay this has to be a joke, right? Thriller, the movie? Yes, Thriller, the movie.
Deadline tells this mess:
I'm told that GK Films is in active negotiations to acquire a package for a film that is being fashioned around his groundbreaking hit song Thriller. The film, which has been quietly shopped over the past several weeks by Real Effects Entertainment, has Kenny Ortega attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay.

While GK is in the driver's seat, I'm told that Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are all in the mix on what will shape up as a pricey rights deal, but which will turn out to be a film budgeted at under $50 million. Plot is being kept under wraps but I understand it has to do with the song's folklore, involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in. All of this deal making is subject to a deal being completed with Jackson's estate, but that has been in the works for some time and is expected to be sealed.
My heart is breaking as we speak.

Interesting Quote: Clint McCance

“Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers committed suicide. The only way im wearin it for them is if they all commit suicide. New Casting Info for True Blood Season 4

I got some TB news for this morning. Here are the first wave of new cast members for the next season:

* Marnie is a Z-list palm reader who’s painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch. Anybody else thinking said sorceress might turn out to be the Hallow character Alan Ball told me about back in August?
* Andy’s sister, Portia, is as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom. And, since I hear possible portrayers have to be cool with nude scenes, we’re gonna get an eyeful.

* Naomi is an Asian-American cage fighter who, outside of the ring…er, cage…is hot-’n'-heavy with one of her female competitors. My hunch is that, driven away by brother Sam, Tommy starts putting up his dukes for money instead of his paws.
* Queen Mab is an elegant beauty who presides over a fantasy land that sounds a lot like the fairy domain into which Sookie (Anna Paquin) keeps being pulled. But, ethereal as her highness may be, she’s also got a temper…
* Suzanne McKittrick is a Real Housewives type who throws a hootenanny to bond with “her kind.” That “kind,” I’m thinking, being shapeshifters like buttoned-down African-American (and fellow newbie) Emory Broome.

More to come.

Looking for the One Good Woman for Batman 3

Hot news on the Batman 3 flick. Christopher Nolan is looking for the female lead:
Warner Bros’ new “Batman” film has switched to a higher gear (so much so the production’s leaving fire trails), concurrently hitting the gas, with an insider telling Moviehole that a ”revolving door will be in operation for the better part of this week” as director Christopher Nolan and producers meet with their prospective female lead.

Nolan began meeting with actors a few weeks back, one of whom was Tom Hardy who was recently reported to be playing an unspecified role in the big-budget blockbuster.
The hunt is now on for the film’s Bat babe.

Several young (“Late 20′s, early 30′s”) ladies are meeting with the Caped Crusader’s resuscitator this week to talk about the new film. Interestingly enough, quite a few of the ladies don’t actually know what role they’re being asked to read for/meet Nolan about (yep, security is tighter on this thing than the department store Jonathan Switcher worked at in “Mannequin” – Okay, maybe a bit tighter than that) they’ve just accepted an offer to “meet” with the filmmaker. Presumably, they’ll leave the meeting knowing quite a bit more.

I’ve the names of a couple of the young ladies meeting with Nolan, but I’ve checked in with them and they’ve kindly asked me not to name them – at least until they’re convinced they haven’t got the job (fair enough, don’t want to jinx it for anyone).
What I can say is that Nolan is open to casting a fresh face as the female lead; he’s not necessarily bringing in the big guns.

My question is, which lovely Bat-universe lady will it be?

LGBT Leaders meet about DADT at the White House today

I think right now there's a meeting at the White House about DADT and how how to move forward in a possible lame duck session.
Metro Weekly has the scoop:
[T]he White House is meeting with several interested parties to discuss the legislative repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. The meeting will concern the work that remains to be done to ensure Congressional action on this issue this year."
The meeting is to take place at 4:30 p.m. today, is to have bi-partisan participation and is, per Bond's email, "off the record."

R. Clarke Cooper, the executive director of Log Cabin Republicans, is reportedly one of the expected attendees for the meeting, as is Servicemembers United executive director Alex Nicholson. Nicholson is the individually named representative of the plaintiffs in the Log Cabin Republicans v. United States lawsuit. Assuming their attendance, the government would have an obligation not to discuss the case with the two men directly without their lawyers present.

There were rumors about if certain things were brought up during the meet and greet, the meeting was over. But here's the real reason:

Asked for comment, however, an administration official stressed that there are very precise legal lines that can't be crossed. One of them is talking about ongoing litigation with litigants in the room.

"Some of the participants in the meeting are involved in active litigation against the government on the issue of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, so it wouldn't be appropriate to discuss that litigation," said the administration official "This is standard procedure for any meeting where that would be the case."
"You could add further that our lawyers can't have contact with represented parties without their counsel being present."

So I hope this clears up some stuff. As usual, some people got to screw up the facts for their own gain. But I try to keep y'all in the know.

President Obama has appointed more Gay Officials than any other President in History.

Alan Cumming claimed that Obama has done diddly squat for gays. Well, I wouldn't call appointing the most gay officials to well-paid Government jobs nothing:

Gay activists say the estimate of more than 150 appointments so far — from agency heads and commission members to policy officials and senior staffers — surpasses the previous high of about 140 reached during two full terms under President Bill Clinton.

"From everything we hear from inside the administration, they wanted this to be part of their efforts at diversity," said Denis Dison, spokesman for the Presidential Appointments Project of the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute.

The pace of appointments has helped to ease broader disappointment among gay rights groups that Obama has not acted more quickly on other fronts, such as ending the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military.

In a sign of how times have changed, few of the appointees — about two dozen required Senate confirmation — have stirred much controversy. It's a far cry from the 1993 furor surrounding Clinton's nomination of then-San Francisco Supervisor Roberta Achtenberg as assistant secretary for Housing and Urban Development.

I'm sure will appoint more as his term continues.
