Interesting Quote: John L. Perry

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a "family intervention," with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama's exponentially accelerating agenda for "fundamental change" toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama's radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Now, This is a Gay Wedding

These two did it and did it well.
Stylist Michael K. Cole, owner of the famed and celebrated Talk of the Town Salon, stood before family and friends in a commitment ceremony between he and his soul-mate Jamil Smith.

In a unique celebration stylized like an official wedding ceremony, Cole and Smith were intentional in their efforts to break through the barriers of a world immersed in intolerance. They said their union opened the doors of possibility for both heterosexuals and members of the GLBT community who are seeking true love. “What this ceremony meant to the gay community is that now a lot of gay people can say that 'Yes, we too can do this.’” Cole said.
Cole and Smith said they met a few years ago at Gay Pride Celebration in Atlanta, GA. Cole and Smith hit it off in a way that reads like the pages of a fairytale. “From the day we met there was an initial connection. What started out as 4 or 5 hours together, talking and getting to know one another, felt like a weekend or a lifetime of knowing each other,” Smith says of his first conversation with Cole.
Cole and Smith’s love for one another radiates around them. They say theirs is a special bond that comes solely when love calls and the right person finally answers.

Congrats, Michael and Jamil... Work that Wedding.

Who should play Captain America? The peeps have spoken

In a poll on Splash Page, many folks chose John (sexy) Barrowman to play Captain America. Which is quite interesting considering he's not American or blonde, but I guess that doesn't matter.

And True Blood's Eric was 2nd.

Here are the poll results

John Barrowman: 36%
Alexander Skarsgard: 28%

Jensen Ackles: 10%

Jon Hamm: 8%

Channing Tatum: 3%

John Cena: 2%

Matthew McConaughey: 2%

Will Smith: 2%

Tyrese Gibson: 0%

Senate Finance Committee isn't Feeling Public Option

Not cute news, the Senate Finance Committee rejected public option
Members of the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday rejected an amendment to a sweeping health-care overhaul bill that would have created a government-run insurance plan option.

Authored by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., the amendment failed by a vote of 15 to 8. Rockefeller said a so-called "public option" would have offered a competitor to private insurance companies. There are other amendments to come that would also create a government option.

Hopefully, this isn't over.

Hey LOGO, Do a Show about REAL Non-Glossy gay couples

Great Hera! I hoped this was a rumor, but it's not.

My buddy, Howard mentioned this on Twitter and I found this "confirmation" about the show.

After seeing posts on Gawker and RadarOnline last Friday about Logo's big new gay "Real Houseboys of New York" series (that's my title, not theirs), I had to try and get confirmation from this from my Logo colleagues here. Here's what I found out...

YES, there is a show like this actually in the works, and True Entertainment, the folks who produce The Real Housewives of Atlanta and HGTV's Design Star (not to mention The Gastineau Girls -- ouch!) are behind it.

Just about anybody in gay NYC knows prominent media gays, publicists, event planners, DJs, party promoters, Broadway producers... The casting possibilities are endless. Let's hope that this is tackled in some way that's not inherently embarrassing. OR, more to the point, let's just hope it's a big sprawling gay train wreck that'll be chronicling demented homo drama from Fashion Week to Fire Island; from Therapy to Sugarland; from GLAAD cocktail shindigs to Bana Pool Parties

NOOOO! We don't need this! I blog about this last month. This will be mess, entertaining, but mess! You know what LOGO, instead of party boys and shallow power gays, showcase loving and down to earth gay couples.

If you ask me, these are the real power couples. They are not trying to be famous or Carrie Bradshaw, they are just trying to be. We don't need more bitchy and silly gays flashing drama all over TV.

In the midst of DOMA and gay marriage battles, why not showcase simple, non-glossy gay relationships. We always see the glitter and gold versions of us, why not present regular gay couples living, working and raising familes?

LOGO, please! Erase and rewind. We need to show more to our culture, this is a chance to do so.

A day late and 5 dollars short, Cleve

This past week, Cleve send a letter to Obama about attending the National Equality March.

I applaud his efforts, but isn't too late to send invitations?

Obama has been invited to some golfing thing every president goes to. In fact, it was one of the few early events put on his calender. So in someways, this was known way ahead of time, as well as congress being OUT that weekend, but that's another issue for another time.

Plus, I think there could be some heat from comparing this March and the Civil Rights March of '63. Many folks don't take that comparison too kindly. So I wonder if that was wise to state the issue in this letter, when we have not completely hashed out the similarities and differences.

Also, the letter talks about marching for "full and equal protections for LGBT people in all matters governed by a civil law in the 50 states". Okay, spell that out.

What are these protections? Of course, the answers are simple, but when you are writing to the President, would you make sure that everything was spelled out. If I had a chance to ask the President to do something for me, I wouldn't say "give me full and complete happiness for a lifetime". No honey, I would spell that mess it out in bullet points and highlight every major word. Obama would know what I wanted in abundance.

Now, I not trying to knock this event. I do this to anything that seems "put awkwardly together". However, I hope everyone who is going to NEM, gets something out of it. I really hope this event jumpstarts something in the LGBT community.

But I wouldn't hold my breath about Obama showing up.

Poppers are used for WHAT?

So every time I go to X-Tube, I noticed that most guys use this thing called Poppers. They sniff this little spray thing and have "relations".

Apparently, this has been going on for years. Is this really needed in sex?
I guess, I'm looking for answers... Why do folks use this?

Haters defaced Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center's National Coming Out Day Billboard

My friend in Memphis (just 2 hours from my hometown) just told me about this foolishness.

Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center launched a National Coming Out Day billboard campaign.

Within days, one of them was defaced. An investigation will happen and Heidi Cranford Williams from the MGLCC had this to say:
We choose not to be stopped by fear; instead, our community unites in solidarity and the knowledge that we too deserve equality.

Although we are saddened by yesterday’s hateful expression of intolerance, we are proud of the local Memphian that chose to be the face on the billboard. He eagerly served our country and was forced out of the military under the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT) policy. The billboard featured him as a proud marine and displayed his brave message “I’m gay and I protected your freedom.” This bravery was met with disrespect.

We are gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender and we are proud. We will continue to champion the messages that the billboards were purchased to convey:

We want the Mid-South to know about MGLCC and the many life-saving programs we offer.

  • We want to show our neighbors that we are an integral part of the community, of schools, of businesses, of churches and of families.
  • We want to encourage our gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual brothers and sisters to come out whenever possible. Coming out is an act of courage, of power and of freedom.
  • We want to show that we are unafraid and unashamed to be honest about ourselves.

MGLCC is planning a unity rally to take place next weekend to show Memphis that in the face of discrimination we can peacefully unite with a message of strength, love and hope. We have formally requested that the Memphis Police Department open an investigation into the destruction of the billboard.

Stay strong, y'all. Hopefully, the cowards will be caught

Fall Season DEATH... Of course it's from the CW

Great news! CW lost one of it's stupid ass shows. TBL The Beautiful Life.

It was a poorly written show about models and loosely based from Ashton Kutcher's life as model. It was sheer mess.
After two episodes, The CW has canceled Ashton Kutcher's scripted drama "The Beautiful Life."

Wednesday's episode was seen by just 1 million viewers and generated a 0.5 rating in the adult demo.

The decision comes on the heels of two reality show pickups by the network, "Fly Girls" and a Tinsley Mortimer docusoap.

Which will also be failures. In the some USC cinema classes, they discuss CW as a disaster zone, it's the perfect case study.

Insiders predict Melrose Place to be next.

What was the most "interesting" sexual thing you have done?

Sidney Prescott is Back, meaning... Scream 4 is happening (not excited)

Scream 4 will start production in April or May as the first of a new trilogy written by series creator Kevin Williamson. The company is in talks with Wes Craven to possibly return to the director's chair.

I guess it's on... Damn. I mean, I loved the movies, but this is not right.

NOM's trying to attack Fred Karger

So, NOM has subpoenaed Fred Karger, the leader of Californians Against Hate.

But have no fear, Fred has folks coming to help and support him. NOM is only making it easier to bring them down. I believe, if they want Fred's info, then NOM needs to release theirs. If they have nothing to hide, then let us see. Be real, NOM. Who's giving you money?

My Dear, you are not cured... You're still Gay!

I had friends to say the same thing and in the end, they craved the cock.

Who asked for This?: Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer and another Daredevil?

Stop the madness!

Ghost Rider 2 is coming out and I guess fans are in heat... Wrong! No one is excited about this. In fact, this movie was a hot mess, but Columbia Pictures believes it can be a hit.
Columbia Pictures has begun to rev the throttle on a second installment of the Marvel Comics character “Ghost Rider.”

David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage, who played the highly flammable cyclist in the 2007 original. Through a spokesperson, Goyer said he hadn’t signed on yet. But plans are already under way to base the sequel on a “Ghost Rider” script written years ago by Goyer, whose superhero work includes hit screen transfers of DC’s “Batman Begins” and Marvel’s “Blade” franchise. The original “Ghost Rider” was scripted by director Mark Steven Johnson.
“Ghost Rider” will be produced by former Marvel topper Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster executive producer.

Avi Arad? Wasn't he fired for his foolishness?

And speaking of foolishness... Fox wants to redo Daredevil and jumpstart a Silver Surfer movie.
Fox is: rebooting “Fantastic Four” with “Green Lantern” scribe Michael Green and producer Akiva Goldsman; mobilizing a “Wolverine” sequel and several “X-Men” spinoffs; is quietly developing a new version of “Daredevil” and working on a Silver Surfer film. Sony recently set James Vanderbilt to write the fifth and sixth installments of “Spider-Man,” and Universal continues work on “Sub-Mariner.” Paramount continues as distributor for “Iron Man 2” and several others expected to include “Thor” and “Captain America.”

Silver Surfer? Maybe, he has fans... I think. But another Daredevil? Another one? Child Cheese, I'm still trying erase the 1st one from my mind.

Disney/Marvel, it's time to bring it all back into the fold.

Are you Ready for this... Barbie the Movie

It was bound to happen, so I'm not surprised.

Universal Pictures has added Barbie to its star stable.

The studio has made a deal with Mattel to build a live action film around its signature toy line. Studios are placing a premium on building films around well-known concepts. Universal brass feels it has landed the queen of globally branded toy figures.

But will folks pay $15 to see her, Skipper, Ken (and his gay lover) and P.J.?

And Christie BETTER be in it, goddammit!

"Fed" Death... Murder or Suicide?

This is kinda freaky.

Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old part-time Census field worker was found dead in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky. He was found hanging, with the word "fed" was written on the dead man's chest.

The Census folks has paused all door-to-door interviews in the area until further notice.

What's really worrying folks is the possibilty of this being a murder due to his government job.

I'm really hoping this is not an anti-government murder. If so, who knows what's next?

Interesting Quote: Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Brendon Ayanbadejo

“If Britney Spears can party it up in Vegas with one of her boys and go get married on a whim and annul her marriage the next day, why can’t a loving same-sex couple tie the knot?

How could our society grant more rights to a heterosexual one-night-stand wedding in Vegas than a gay couple that has been together for three, five, 10 years of true love? The divorce rate in America is currently 50 percent. I am willing to bet that same-sex marriages have a higher success rate than heterosexual marriages.”

No More Mutants (Movies)!!!

Lauren Shuler Donner, the producer who has supported the X-Men movies from the gate, continues to stab me in the eyes.

She has somewhat dismissed the X-Men: First Class movie, but talks of things I can't comprehend right now:

According to Shuler Donner, there’s no truth to the initial claim (X-Men: First Class) at all. She announced that the film has no scheduled start date and will definitely not be kicking off in February. What’s more, she confirmed that no actors have signed contracts to appear in the film.

I asked if they had signed the young mutants up for an option on future films, and she admitted that yes, everybody was under option. No surprises there.

As well as the eventual New Class, then - whenever that might be - Shuler Donner revealed that she has been cooking up plans for several other mutant films. The two she named? An X4, reuniting the X-Men and a big screen outing for The New Mutants. X4, she said, had yet to be pitched to the studio.

How about NO! Nada from her, Fox or anyone until Marvel gets everything back.
However, that may be possible since the Disney/Marvel hook-up. There could be some saving grace swooping in to stop Fox's foolishness.

Are you Out at Work?

I am, but according to a survey by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, many LGBT folks are not.

Here are some results

51% of LGBT employees say they hide their sexual orientation or gender identity from most or all of their coworkers.

42% of LGBT employees say they've lied about their personal relationships in the past year.

5% of workers ages 18–24 say they are open about their sexual orientation or gender identity, while 20% of their older colleagues say they are.

The survey also found that only 18% of LGBT Latinos are willing to be open with everyone at work, compared to 25% of African-Americans and 29% of whites.
