Los Angeles NAACP President Resigns over Donald Sterling Drama

Los Angeles NAACP President Leon Jenkins resigned yesterday over the group's ties to Donald Sterling.

In the middle of the Sterling drama, he was going to be honored with a lifetime achievement award. Yeah, seriously, even after the issues with racial incidents involving tenants.

Anywho, Leon snatched back the honor award thingy once everything rolled out. However, folks starting learning more interesting stuff. Sterling's donated a lot of cash to Leon's branch since 2009. Once this info hit the press, Leon decided that he should step down.

He said:
"Please be advised that the legacy, history and reputation of the NAACP is more important to me than the presidency. In order to separate the Los Angeles NAACP and the NAACP from the negative exposure I have caused the NAACP."
More to come

So Sterling was just buying good press. If Jenkings knew this, it almost makes him worse than Sterling.
