Idiot Mouth is the Texas Railroad Commission Chairman and running for Attorney General of Texas. If he thinks they can be independent from America, go ahead, try it.

Here's a suggestion that is just as absurd:
Let's build a big wall all around Texas, with an embargo on all Texan products. Nothing goes in, nothing goes out. Let's see how long that entity would endure...
