Question of the Day: The Weinergate Edition

It seems that some Dems want Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign and go on A&E's Intervention. But I think Anthony should stay the course and keep his political position.

Basically, he shouldn't resign over his cock shot.

What do y'all think?

I saw Bill Maher and Jane Lynch read the emails verbatim from Weiner and it's not new.

He needs to step down. Irregardless of the fact that what he was doing is something that goes on EVERY day - it now calls into question his believability.

I can't help but think that when that first picture showed up and he'd admitted it was him, and that he'd done some stupid thing on Twitter and so on, this would have all blown over.
But his lies kept the story alive.
Should he resign?
I kinda don't think so.

It is a little more than just the picture, it's now emerging he texted a, wait for it, 17 year old woman.

Last I knew, age of consent in MOST of the U.S. was 16 for hetero contact. So nothing really wrong there.

I think he should stay the course and not step down. You can smell that this is a Republican spin machine in action here. They're doing to Weiner what they did to Grayson.

And while I'm on the subject, I'd be willing to say that there are a fair number of Congressional cock shots out there somewhere. I'll go biblical from John 8:7, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone ..."

I couldn't make up my mind if he should stay or resign. But after listening to those holier than thou Democrats, I think he should stay. And those Dems who are demanding he resign, I say "what's in your closet?"

The real crime here was the lying, beside I think we're close to the point where people who haven't sexted will be ridiculed.

While his public reputation is tainted, his reputation and relationship with his colleagues will rebound. Most folks in DC are doing a little something, something on the side. It was his turn to get caught.

I think it should be left up to his constituency.
